Trials were conducted under irrigated conditions at four other sites: Guzhang (China); Joypore and Pulla in India; and Sakha in Egypt.

Moisture stress was slight for ten days at reproductive stage at Pulla. Trials at two locations experienced moderate drought stress: Samoeng (at dough stage for 10 days) and Navsari (at milk stage for 20 days). Severe drought occurred at Guzhang for 60 days at reproductive stage.

Overall best entries

The phenotypic acceptability ratings of entries at eight rainfed upland sites are summarized in Table 5. The overall best entries were selected based on the number of sites where phenotypic acceptability (PACP) scores were good (score of 3) or excellent (score of 1) and the mean PACP rating across locations.

The following overall best entries had an average PACP score of 4 across sites and PACP scores

of 1 or 3 in at least four sites in seven or more sites:

At Pulla, the crop was subjected to slight moisture stress for ten days at reproductive stage.

The trial at Navsari was exposed to moderate drought stress for 20days during reproductive stage. IR 88628-B-B-15, Vandana, and IR 83140-56 had more than 80% fertile spikelets. Following nine entries showed 60 to 80% spikelet fertility:
