In this special edition we honor our State, Regional, and

National champion 4—H Club members in North Carolina, As we honor

these we at the same time pay tribute to every boy and girl in North

Carolina who to the best of his ability has lived up to the 4-H Club motto,

"To Make The Best Better, "

North Carolina may well be proud of the achievements of her

4==H members in county, state, national, and international affairs; in

all of these our members have excelled. Their achievements, however

great, are due in a large measure to the untiring efforts and the devoted

and consecrated leadership of the Extension workers who have given

more than they were expected to give in the way of service and influence

in the direction of 4-H activities, bringing to this state the most out-

standing program of 4-H Club work it has ever known.

To all of you, 4—H members, Extension workers, parents,

sponsors, and local leaders, the members of the 4-H staff express

grateful appreciation; and during this holiday season and for all the days

to come wish for you happiness complete, prosperity sufficient to provide

the necessary comforts of life, and health adequate for the full enjoyment

of all the days to come. ..

- =L. R. .Harrill

NOTE: This issue of the 4-H Ward is dedicated to the State winnersin the various 4—H_projects and their activities.
