INTRODUCTION

The Push Pull tool is the most famous SketchUp tool. In this guide you will learn how to draw oneand get it setup for 3D printing.

Step 1 — How to install the STL plugin for SketchUp

Open SketchUp

On your menu bar go to "Window"

Select "Extension Warehouse"

The Extension Warehouse also includes tons of other cool Extensions for, well extending theusefulness of SketchUp!

Step 2

Once you've found the extension, it'seasy to install it, just click "install"

You'll need a user account to installan Extension. All you need is aGoogle (GMail) account to do this. Ifyou already have one just type inyour credentials and you're all set!

Now that you have this installed youcan import and export STL files fromthe "File>Export" menu in SketchUp.This will be referenced a lot in our3D printing tutorials.

Step 3 — Open Extension Warehouse

Open up SketchUp and click on"Window" and then "ExtensionWarehouse"

Step 4 — Find FredoScale

You can search for FredoScale here.Once you find it, click "Open"

Step 5 — Install it from SketchUCation

SketchUCation has it's own pluginstore that's separate from the mainSketchUp Extension Warehouse.This where most of Fredo's pluginsare. You'll be installing thisextension using their instructions.

This extension is free and worksgreat with SketchUp.

Step 6 — Look at the completed model

We're going to be drawing this 3piece 3D print step by step. Tocheck out the completed model clickhere to see it.

Seeing it completed will give you abetter idea of why we're going todraw this a specific way.

Note the forced perspective, thesmall gaps for the arrow and the leg,and the rounded corners.
