The Itron Eclipse Enterprise Edition (3E) supportsboth smart cards and Standard Transfer Specification(STS) token transactions, and is the only systemexisting today that can do both.Our system uses the STS open standard for smartpayment and for far reaching multi-channel vendingnetworks such as:

Eclipse Enterprise Edition is scaleable from 300 upto 5 million meters and supports two different waysto handle end-user payment:

> Prepayment; the end-user has to pay up frontfor gas consumption,

> Pay as you go (soft prepayment); the end-userconsumes gas as with a regular credit meterbut after a certain time or volume used is forcedto pay otherwise the meter will close down.

Multi-language, the system will help to collectmeter reading data, outstanding debts or differentcharges with unlimited tariff possibilities. Tariffs canbe updated on a daily basis making it very flexiblefor utilities to manage. Its data logging capabilitiesenable utilities to detect and minimize tamperingand fraud on the meter side and on the system sidesmart tools are used to analyse consumptionprofiles.
