The VS252-3G is ideal for telco environments where

Universal transport

Transports 3G, HD and SD pathological patterns

without additional scrambling at 1310/1550nm and

CWDM LSB dithering provided for DWDM applications.

Non-standard video rates are supported in bypass

mode with jitter management disabled.

Highly flexible

Universal transport card configurable as electrical

to optical (E-O), O-E and O-O repeater, wavelength

shifter, changeover switch or automatic protection

switch with any wavelength for ease of sparing.

Protection switching

Supports revertive and non-revertive modes for

automatic protection switching providing network

resiliency and path protection.

SFP optical interfaces

Supports wideband 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths

in addition to CWDM and DWDM wavelengths. Typical

30dB optical budget in HD, SD and ASI modes.

Signal integrity tests

Provides full CRC and EDH checks on input video

signals to ensure signal integrity.

Test pattern generation

Supports all SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI rates with

options for different patterns. Also supports null

packet generation for DVB-ASI test pattern.

Remote upgrade

Supports remote firmware upgrades via the AEMS

(Ventura shelf element manager) for the latest in

function upgrades and fault resolution.

Element managementThe Ventura AEMS shelf element managers, FCS183-AEMS and FCS101-AEMS, provide a comprehensive set of status, control and alarm variables through a Web interface. The AEMS is a powerful Linux based embedded management system that also supports SNMP and XML. It also acts as an agent for card upgrades, storing multiple images for each card in the VS103 or VS101 chassis. Users can apply these images to install upgrades from a remote location
