3hr RACE INFO

The course is made up of 3 stages. There are a number of checkpoints to find on each stage. The aim is to get as many points in the 3 hours as possible.

Stage 1 MTB

Stage 2 Trek

Stage 3 MTB On each stage there are checkpoints (CP) and bonus points (BP). CP – CPs are worth 50 points. They form the main route of the course. Most teams should be able to get these in the 3 hr time limit. CPs must be collected in order. There is no penalty for missing a CP. BP - BPs are worth 100 points. They are off the main route and involve harder navigation. These are for faster teams to go out and collect to get more points with in the 3 hour time limit. You must choose whether it is beneficial for your team to go for the bonus points or not. BPs can be collected in any order. The team with the most points in 3 hours wins. If a number of teams collect all the points in under 3 hours the winner will be the team with the fastest time. All teams must be back within 3 hours, for every minute you are late you will lose 20points. The checkpoints are a small piece of white plastic with a letter and a number written on them. You must record this on the answer sheet you have been given. Answers must be readable to get credited the points. Mystery Activities: there are activities on the course. When you get to one you must complete the activity at that location to get points. All team members must do the activity to get the points. Upon completing a MA you must give your number to the marshals and check they have recorded your score. If they don’t record it you don’t get points. All teams must stick together at all times. If any team is found split up there will be a 500 point penalty. There will be marshals at random checkpoints. If your team doesn’t arrive within 1 minute of each other you will lose 500pts. You must carry all of your compulsory gear. There will be a random gear check on course. If you don’t have your gear you will lose 500pts.

You MUST ride single file on roads. Keep left at all times.
