Fair Wage Act of 2016
Overview
• Signed into law by Governor Brown on April 4, 2016.
• Increase the minimum wage by $1 per hour each January 1 until it reaches $15 per hour in 2022. In each year thereafter the minimum wage will be adjusted to keep pace with the cost of living in California.

City and County Minimum Wage Ordinances
• In advance of the Fair Wage Act, more than 20 California cities and counties had increased their minimum wage.
