    Found in the walls of large arteriesand veins

    function: these are Small bloodvessels which supply nutrition totunica media and tunica adventitia

    Function of elasticarteries

    During systole, They absorb some ofthe pulse beat by expansion of theirwalls.

    During diastole, the large arteriesreturn to normal size pushing theblood forward (windkessel effect).

    They make the blood flow lessintermittent during cardiac cycle.
