    INTRODUCTION Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,the source of all mercy and the God of all consolation,who comforts us in all our sorrows so that we can comfortothers in their sorrows with the consolation we ourselveshave received from God. THANKSGIVING FOR BAPTISM When we were baptized in Christ Jesus, we werebaptized into his death.We were buried therefore with himby baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised fromthe dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live anew life. For if we have been united with him in a deathlike his, we shall certainly be united with him in aresurrection like his.

    PRAYER OF THE DAY

    Let us pray. A brief silence is kept before the prayer.O God of grace and glory, we remember before youtoday our brother, Rob. We thank you for giving him to usto know and to love as a companion in our pilgrimage onearth. In your boundless compassion, console us whomourn. Give us faith to see that death has beenswallowed up in the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ, sothat we may live in confidence and hope until, by your call, we are gathered to our heavenly home in thecompany of all your saints; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

    PROFESSION OF FAITH

    In Christ, you have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.We believe in him and are markedwith the seal of the promised Holy Spirit. ( Eph. 1:13-14)

    Living together in trust and hope, we confess our faith.

    I believe in God, the Father almighty,creator of heaven and earth.

    I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy

    Spirit, born of the virgin Mary,suffered under Pontius Pilate,was crucified, died, and was buried;he descended to the dead.On the third day he rose again;he ascended into heaven,he is seated at the right hand of the Father,and he will come to judge the living and thedead.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit,the holy catholic church,the communion of saints,

    INTERCESSIONS Almighty God, in holy baptism you have knit your chosenpeople together into one communion of saints in the bodyof Christ. Give to your whole church in heaven and onearth your light and your peace. God of mercy,hear our prayer.

    Grant that all who have been baptized into Christ's deathand resurrection may die to sin and rise to share the new

    God of all grace, we give you thanks because by hisdeath our Savior Jesus Christ destroyed the power of death and by his resurrection he opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers. Make us certain that because helives we shall live also, and that neither death nor life, nor things present nor things to come, will be able toseparate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord, wholives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,now and forever.Amen.

    Let us pray.God of mercy and grace,the eyes of all wait upon you, and you open your hand in blessing. Fill us with good things at your table, that we may come to the help of all in need,through Jesus Christ, our redeemer and Lord . Amen.

    James Robinson Rob Moorhead

    James "Rob" Robinson Moorhead, 57, of Watson, was taken into God'shands on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, due to a bicycling accident. He was anemergency medical services pilot for Metro Aviation servicing AcadianAmbulance. He was born in Bethesda, Md., raised in Gaithersburg, Md., andwas a graduate of Principia College, Elsah, Ill. Rob entered the Marine Corpsand started his lifelong career as a helicopter pilot. He served with the MarineReserves, being activated for Operation Desert Storm and retired as alieutenant colonel. He continued flying for PHI Inc., servicing the oil and gasindustry, then devoted 20 years of federal service as a pilot with the Departmentof Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection. Rob had a zeal for lifeand participated in many organizations. He was a member of the Baton RougeMarine Corps League. He was an avid bicyclist and bagpiper. He piped for U.S.Border Patrol Pipes & Drums, the Baton Rouge Caledonian Pipes & Drums(Caledonian Society of Baton Rouge); and the NaCait Dubh Band (CelticSociety of LA). He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Julie Roane Moorhead;son, David; three daughters, Elizabeth, Victoria, and Amanda; parents CarltonCharles and Nan Moorhead; brother, Christopher; mother-in-law, Katherine"Billie" Roane; brothers-in-law, Spencer and Randolph Roane; sisters-in-law,Katherine "Jan" Heining, Pamela (Mike) Trenchard, Ellen (Sarah)Hopkins; eightnephews and four nieces. Burial at Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary, ispending for next week, date and time to be posted atwww.ChurchFuneralServices.com . Rob was struck while training for the Fourthannual Brotherhood Bicycling Ride, dedicated to the emergency responderswho died in the line of duty.
