Breadboard

Page 3: 4) Breadboard

• Wires and Components pushed into holes; Holes interconnected with metallic strips

• No soldering required

• Advantages: Handy, Saves Time & Money, Reusable, Easy Troubleshooting

• Disadvantages: Not suitable for complex circuits

• Rows (2 in first half and 2 in second half)

• Columns (36 in upper half and 36 in lower half)

About Breadboard (BB)

Providing supply to BB

• In 1st Row: First 25 holes get Vcc (positive)

• In 2nd Row: First 25 holes get grounded (negative)

Page 11: 4) Breadboard

Connecting two halves of BB

• To connect first set of 25 holes to the next set of 25 holes, run a wire from the 1st half to the 2nd half of bb

• In 1st Row: Now all 50 holes receive Vcc (positive)

Page 12: 4) Breadboard

Providing Vcc to any column

• Run a red wire from the first row (any hole) to any column

• Red wire: Transfers Vcc from the 1st row to the corresponding column

Page 13: 4) Breadboard

Connecting two columns

• To connect two columns, run a wire from the 1st one to the other

Connecting LED on BB

• Wrong Way: Don’t insert both legs of LED in the same column

• Correct Way: Insert two legs of LED in two different columns

Connecting Resistor on BB

• Wrong Way: Don’t insert both legs of resistor in the same column

• Right Way: Insert two legs of resistor in two different columns
