Meeting Agenda

o Meeting Called to order – Our President, Caroline, called the meeting to order

o Recite 4-H pledge and Pledge of Allegiance - we all need to practice our 4-H pledge!

o Discuss why we castrate and dehorn (why it is good to do it) and what tools we use – Wayne showed us what kind of tools are used for castrating and dehorning

o Set date for Castrations and Dehorning if anyone needs help – we set the date for Wayne to help everyone get their calves castrated and dehorned – Saturday, January 23rd

o Work on Breed Cross word – everyone worked on their crossword puzzle with parents – the worksheet listed different breeds of cattle – Wayne suggested we look up some of those breeds and see what they look like

o Decide on community service project – the group decided we do want to do a service project this year and discussed ideas for a community service project – we decided we would adopt a nursing home and our first activity will be to make Valentines cards and deliver them to the members of the nursing home – we will work on the cards at our next meeting

o Hand out project record book information – we discussed the sheets for the project record book and stressed we need to start working on them now
