This presentation focuses on the duties of being the Reporter of your 4-H club.

In this presentation, you will learnResponsibilities of the Reporter

In this presentation, you will learn some basic responsibilities for the 4-H Club Reporter.3Responsibilities of the ReporterWrite news story as soon as possible after each meeting.Take news papers or articles to radio stationsAdd pictures and news articles in news papers.

The 4-H Club Reporter has the opportunity and responsibility of telling others about 4-H work. Writing announcements and reports for the local newspaper, keeping a scrapbook of club publicity, and serving as chairman of the publicity committee are important jobs for the reporter. You are responsible for letting others know about your club the fun you are having, work you are doing, and help you are giving.

For your club to obtain the support, respect and good will of the people in the community, it is important for you to keep them aware of the good work done by your club.

It is important that as the clubs Reporter you write the news article as soon as possible! This is important for a couple of reasons. First, write the article right away so that you remember the details of the meeting. The newspaper can publish it in a timely manner. When its appropriate, the Reporter needs to bring information directly to the radio stations of the clubs activities. Also, you want to make sure that you give unique pictures and news articles to the news paper for them to publish your clubs activities.4Responsibilities for ReportersWrite an article to invite people to meetings.Consult with secretary for meeting informationRead others news articles to improve yours.

As a Reporter, you need to include in your article when the next meeting is. This will help remind the members and invite them to the next meeting. If you need any additional information, you should contact the secretary to compare your notes about the meeting. You can improve your writing skills by reading other peoples articles.5Responsibilities for Reporters

Create news stories of the group and group members.

The Reporter needs to tell the news story in an interesting way so that people will be interested in reading the article. It is also important as Reporters to keep accurate notes. This helps the reporter write an accurate article for the newspaper. If Johnny Smith did a presentation on hunting safety, he will be very disappointed if the article states he presented about Ballet lessons!

Writing notes after every meeting is important so that you remember the details!!
