LEADINGOFF
Only 11 players in the minors have more RBIs since May 5 than Michalczewski’s 30, which is the most of any Carolina League player in that span. Michalczewski’s 38 total RBIs are second on the circuit. Within the CL, Michalczewski is fifth in total bases (92) and tied for fifth in extra-base hits (22). Thanks to a torrid stretch since the middle of May, Narvaez has surged to ninth in the league in batting average at .295. The Maracay, Venezuela, native is hitting .471 so far in June and has spanked six doubles and one homer to drive in 16 runs this season.
Trey Michalczewski has 30 RBI’s since May 5.

Through nine starts in 2015, Dykstra is 3-3 with a 3.83 ERA. The White Sox sixth-round pick in 2013, Dykstra has walked only six against 27 strikeouts 47.0 innings. Dykstra fired Winston-Salem’s 15th no-hitter at Potomac on April 15. Heidenreich was the fourth pitcher in the Minors to five, six and seven wins, respectively. Only five pitchers in the Minors own more wins than the native of Coronado, Calif., who is 7-1 with a 2.67 ERA (5th in CL). Heidenreich was the starting hurler in the 2012 All-Star Game at BB&T Ballpark.

Four men will represent Winston-Salem in the 2015 California-Carolina League All-Star Game, the league office announced Thursday. Righties James Dykstra and Matt Heidenreich, infielder Trey Michalczewski and catcher Omar Narvaez have earned a spot in the Midsummer Classic, which will take place on Tuesday, June 23, in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Since the start of the Dash era in 2009, Winston-Salem has only had more Midseason All-Stars once (2010, 7).

TOBY THOMAS INFIELDER
Dash infi elder Toby Thomas has been to Europe before, but if he had the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world, that continent would be his choice. “I’d probably go to England fi rst and then make my way to other countries there,” Thomas says. “I’ve always just liked going over there and seeing all the sights and meeting people there.”

ZACH ISLER PITCHER
One of the ways to pass time on long road trips is to read. That’s one of Dash reliever Zach Isler’s favorite hobbies. “I got started last year, really,” says Isler. “(Former Dash RHP) Tony Bucciferro kinda kicked me into it, but ever since then, I’ve been reading non-stop.” The native of Union, Ky., is currently reading Killing Kennedy: The End of Camelot by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard.

OMAR NARVAEZ CATCHER
Dash catcher Omar Narvaez is always up to watch an action movie, especially his favorite, “Transformers.” Part of the reason is so he can see some of the craziest and fl ashy new cars in action on the big screen. “I just like how the cars go on,” Narvaez says. “Like the new cars in that movie, I can see those cars outside the street.”

JEREMY DOWDY CATCHER
Jeremy Dowdy may have a heavy metal walk-up song, but his musical interests off the fi eld sway far from that. Dowdy enjoys singing a cappella, a passion he devel-oped from watching the movie “Pitch Perfect.” “I always wanted to be part of the Treblemakers, which was one of the groups in the movie,” says Dowdy. The Dash catcher’s favorite song to sing is “Titanium” by David Guetta, but he says, “I’ll just hear a song and do it, and try to have fun with it.”

JAMES DYKSTRA PITCHER
If Dash right-hander James Dykstra decides to purchase a car in the future, he already knows which one he’d go for: a Range Rover. It’s something he fell for while at Cal State-San Marcos. “I’ve always liked the way they’ve looked,” says James. And my buddy had one in college and I just fell in love with it.”

JAKE PURSLEY - FOUNDERS CLUBWe’ve had Founders Club ti ckets for two years. Our favorite memory at BB&T Ballpark was bringing Autumn and Hunter to their fi rst Dash game and getti ng a tour of the stadium. Hunter loved sitti ng behind home plate, the food and Bolt! We keep coming back because everything always comes together nicely. The seats are great, other season ti cket holders have become good friends, the food is good, and the service is always excellent. It’s a great baseball experience! Our favorite promoti on is anything with Bolt, and our favorite player to see come through in the last two years is Jason Coats. If I could pick any walk up song, it would have to be Thunderstruck.
kevin pearman, bat boy team memberWe’ve had ti ckets since Opening Day in 2010, our favorite memory in the last 6 seasons has to be when the Dash played the Hillcats and Andrelton Simmons was playing for them. My grandson went and got his autograph. We keep coming back because we love everything about the whole experience, especially the fi reworks and t-shirt tosses. If I had to choose a walk up song it would have to be Bad to the Bone or On the Pontoon.
Jake Pursley has been a Founders Club season ticket holder for two years.

24 PLAYBALL // JUNE 15 - JUNE 21DASHING THROUGH THE YEARS - 2014
Even though the Dash’s record was not what the players and coaching staff wanted at the start of the season, Winston-Salem boasted one of the most prospect-laden rosters in Minor League Baseball in 2014. Winston was the only team in all of Minor League Baseball to have its parent club’s first draft selection from the 2012, 2013 and 2014 June Draft on the roster.
Outfielder Courtney Hawkins (13th overall, 2012) spent the entire season with the Dash, and he led the club in both home runs (19) and RBIs (84). He also raised his batting average from .178 to .249 after
a tough initial go-around in the Carolina League in 2013, his first full professional season.
Shortstop Tim Anderson (17th overall, 2013) was one of the most dynamic players in the CL. His .297 average would have been fourth-best on the cir-cuit had he recorded enough plate appearances to qualify. He also registered one of the Dash’s two walk-off homers on June 2 against Lynchburg. An-
derson made a late-season jump to Double-A Birmingham.
Southpaw Carlos Rodon (3rd overall, 2014) stormed through the White Sox system and ended the cam-paign in Triple-A Charlotte. Rodon, the Sox highest selection since Harold Baines was the number one overall pick in 1977, shined during his three-year college career at North Carolina State University. The Holly Springs, N.C., native is one of four pitchers in ACC history to record more than 400 strikeouts (436). Rodon guided the Wolfpack to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and 2013. He became the first freshman to win ACC Pitcher of the Year in 2012. One year later, Rodon led the pro-gram to its first College World Series appearance since 1968.
Not only did the Dash have these three players, but all three were on the roster throughout Rodon’s stint in Winston-Salem (July 30-August 16), though Anderson was on the disabled list during this time.
This talented trio’s presence in the Triad did not lead to many wins, however. The club endured its worst season in the Dash era. The Dash lost their season series to every Carolina League foe, save playoff qualifier Salem (11-9). Winston-Salem nev-er enjoyed sole possession of first place. The Dash’s home record dipped below .500 for the first time in BB&T Ballpark’s history (34-35).
