Nowadays, when it comes to your garage, anything goes. Nothing seems too over the top for some folks. Gone are the days of the messy garage crammed with stuff that no one ever really uses. Sure, you need a space to store your car and a place to stash your tools, but in today’s suped-up garages, there’s also space for plenty of guy toys. Think car collections, not-so-mini-fridges, flat screen TVs, lounge seating, and maybe even a pool or ping-pong table, too. After all, you need to have some fun while you’re caring for your sweet ride. Today’s most impressive garages often sport some other great features. For auto aficionados, built-in hydraulic lifts make oil changes and other tune-ups a breeze. Pair that with built-in shelving and drawer systems for the ultimate in tool organization and you’ve got the car-lover’s dream space. Have a motorcycle or two? Consider giving your bike its own place where you can showcase its beauty and clean and care for it in style. Lighting and simple but comfortable seating can lend an almost gallery-like ambience to your garage, making it a place for you and family or friends to enjoy time together while you’re working. For sports fans, today’s garages can be outfitted with organizational systems designed for easy access to golf clubs and shoes; racing bikes hanging in reach out of harm’s way; and kids’ sporting accessories neatly stored away and clearly labeled in bins. If you’re more interested in a workshop space, why not designate one bay entirely to your tools and materials. Consider closing this spot off from the rest of the garage so sawdust and other debris won’t wreak havoc on the entire space. Projects can be worked on when you have the time and drying items will be safe and sound, set apart from the daily activities of the home. The final touch on your cool new space? Don’t forget the floor. For heavy-duty areas, recoating your existing garage floor with a durable and more beautiful epoxy coat will definitely show off your vintage car collection or amazing workshop. If you have a stained concrete floor consider this option as the pièce de résistance of your amazing new garage. Wisconsin Triple Cheese FondueIngredients:1 1/2 c shredded Butterkase 2 tsp chopped shallots1 1/2 c shredded Fontina cheese 1 tsp freshly ground pepper3 tbsp all-purpose flour 1/4 c crumbled blue cheese3/4 c white wine 2 tbs chopped scallions1/4 c dry sherry

Instructions:Toss the Butterkase and Fontina cheeses with the flour in a bowl. Place a metal bowl over a saucepan filled with two inches of water. You may also use a conventional double boiler. Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and pour the wine and sherry into the bowl. Stir in the shallots using a fork. Cook for 30 seconds stirring constantly.

Add half of the cheese blend, and stir constantly until the cheese is melted. Add the remaining cheese blend a small amount at a time stirring constantly. Fold in the pepper and blue cheese. Pour into a warm fondue pot and keep warm over low heat. Garnish with the scallions.
