Training Skills

Certain premises will have specific requirements or instructions that a security officer will need to take particular note of.

Premises Requirements A newly–hired security guard was undertaking his first evening security check, in a chemical ingredi-ents warehouse. He had previously been in-formed that smoking was forbidden on the prem-ises however, he reasoned who could possibly see him enjoying a cigarette after company hours. Just after he lit it, the fire alarm sounded which prompted the anti-fire sprinkler system. As a result, all electronic equipment and machinery including 44 desktops and two servers, were completely flooded. Let this be a warning, keeping to specific require-ments is highly recommended for all officers, they have been put in place for a reason and could even be for their own well-being and safety. Sticking to the rules results in a well-earned repu-tation and gives a lasting impression to that of clients and co-workers which can result in a long-lasting and successful career!
