• Lack of participation• Skewed participation• Lack of distinction between teaching and

Online Orientations
• Be explicit about expectations and instructions
• Include a syllabus quiz• Dedicate time, but not
too much time
Frequent Course Surveys
• Allows for ongoing changes to address concerns
• Gives students a chance to vent
• Trains students on how to observe
