Attaching CorVu Objects to Scorecard Elements

Attaching drill objects to the tactical or strategic scorecards are primarily used for the

analysis of the scorecard. Drill objects are usually built from the query supporting the

KPI measure, unless it is necessary to obtain the data from another source, such as a web

    site or another application.

Based on the Service Centers management change in 1999, more information is required

about the key indicators, particularly in the area of Customer Service, since the

department is not performing well. Your CorVu analyst has created a series of CorVu

objects to review the customer service performance by tech rep. You will attach theseobjects to the Customer Service inputs in the tactical scorecard.

Complete the following steps to open the Customer Service scorecard:

    1. Select the File|Open menu selection or select the Open Scorecardbutton onthe toolbar.

    2. Select the previously saved Service Center.pmm.

    3. Click Open to continue.

    4. Right-mouse click in the scorecard pane and select the Double Click Icon

    option and choose Activate Reference.

TipBy activating the referenced scorecard you can now double

click on the objectives score or the icon to display the referenced

    scorecard.

    5. Double-click on the Customer objective to display the customer service

    tactical scorecard.

Complete the following steps to attach a graphical drill down to the Issues

    Outstanding at EOM input:

    1. Right-mouse click the Issues Outstanding at EOM input in the Scorecard

    pane.

    2. Select Drill Objects from the right-mouse click menu.

Sally has the highest average issues outstanding by far. Drill down into her bar to

see the trend over time of issues handled by Sally.

From the data it appears that Sally continues to accumulate issues without ever

resolving them. You will look at one other way of comparing issue resolutionacross tech reps before moving on.

    2. Close the Graphical Analysis module to continue.

Complete the following steps to attach a second object to the Issues Outstanding at

    EOM input:

    12. Close the Graphical Analysis module.

    13. Save the scorecard by using the save button on the tool bar.

    input:

An Executive Alert is now attached to the Resolved 1st Call input icon.

    10. Double-click on the drill icon attached to the Resolved 1st Call input icon.

The Executive Alert should look similar to the one shown below:

Hint Double-click on the speedometer to drill-down into the color-coded

spreadsheet. Then tile to view both windows on the same screen..

Not only is Sally not very good at resolving open issues, she is also unable to resolve

many issues on the first call. Sally needs to be put on a performance plan and given some

additional training to satisfy her job requirements.

Mary originally didnt answer many issues right away, however, her performance hassteadily improved over time. Mary was new in the beginning of 1998 so she needed to

research many questions. Checking back to the number of calls outstanding at the EOM,

we see that Mary now has very few calls outstanding. She has really climbed the learning

curve at her job. You consider giving her the most improved award for the year.

Fred is clearly the outstanding performer in the group. He knows the products inside and

out and can answer virtually every question. You decide to ask Fred to put together a

seminar for the other technical representatives. The organization needs to do a better job

    at sharing what Fred knows!

Close the Executive Alert and the Graphical Analysis modules if they are open.

Purchase Agreement with Outback Warehouse and Service Center.

The spreadsheet should look similar to that shown below:

From the spreadsheet you can determine the suppliers with whom Outback

Service Center still needs to negotiate Forward Purchase Agreements. If you hadthe actual FPA contracts, you could attach those as drill down objects also!!

    11. Close the Excel spreadsheet when you are done reviewing it.

Ideally, a web page that describes details of the products in inventory would be selected.

Multiple pages could be added so you could drill into the Web page of each supplier.
