1220 Colorado Street, Suite 300 – Austin, Texas 78701 – 512.478.7313 – FAX 512.478.6433 – equitycenter.org Updated Information for CSSB 22 As we reported in our alerts on Friday, the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Public Education Funding will consider SB 22 by Shapiro on Monday at 8:30 a.m. in 2E.20. For those planning to come to Austin to testify, please log in to the EC Member Center online for updated information that will be crucial as you prepare your testimony (click the 2011 Legislative Session tab). As suspected, the committee substitute for SB 22 includes the statutory language to implement the Hybrid (i.e. "Share the Pain") Model. We now have a draft copy of the committee substitute language, a one-pager that highlights the key aspects of CSSB 22 (not prepared by EC), and a link to the district runs that correspond to CSSB 22. Note: the district runs for CSSB 22 are identical to the last version of LBB's Hybrid runs from March 15 (the same runs we've had on the EC website since March 15). If you have any questions about the Legislative Packet available exclusively to our members in the Member Center or if you need any additional information, don't hesitate to contact us. One last note: The full Senate Finance Committee has posted a hearing for Wednesday, April 20 at 9 a.m. that includes SB 22 on the agenda. Therefore, we can assume that CSSB 22 will be voted from the Senate Finance Subcommittee before Wednesday. We will update members as we learn more about what to expect at Wednesday's hearing. Updated Information for CSSB 22 As we reported in our alerts on Friday, the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Public Education Funding will consider SB 22 by Shapiro on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
