The Yale® KeyMark® keyway has three distinctcomponents: an upper portion or blade, a middle ledge,and a unique, lower angled portion or leg which exits theplug at an angle.

The Security Leg® keyway offers these advantages:

All keyblanks to be maintained inthe possession of the Facility mustbe accounted for. Any defective,incorrectly cut or damaged keyblank must be retained in theFacilities possession to be returnedto YSG on a quarterly basis.

Authorized DistributorsYale KeyMark is a system-basedproduct and is provided throughauthorized distribution. Anauthorized distributor may stockproducts upon specific writtenauthorization from the primarysystem administrator of the facility.Authorized distributors have theability to receive product, keyproduct, cut keys and distribute theproduct to the facility.

Authorized distributors who carry inventory for a specific system must provide valid receipts anddisbursements of all products,specifically keyblanks/cut keys. All keyblanks to be maintained inthe possession of an authorizeddistributor must be accounted for.Any defective, incorrectly cut ordamaged keyblanks must be retainedin the distributor’s possession to bereturned to YSG on a quarterlybasis.

System Specifications

Yale KeyMark uses the A2 pinningspecification for all types ofcylinders. To ensure the securityand integrity of each master keysystem, the following guidelinesshould be followed:

• Master key systems are independent and cannot be keyed into existing and/or conventional Yale master key systems.

• Cylinders are to be keyed to factory generated bittings only.

• Master key systems are not to exceed five levels of keying.

• Proper keying nomenclature must be used for all systems.

• Cross keying is not available.

• Construction master keying is not available. See page 15 for construction core program.

• Selective master keys are not recommended. If required, they must be established at the inception of the keying system.

Construction Master Keying

For security reasons, Yale® KeyMark® cylinders are notavailable construction master keyed. Temporary constructioncores are available for both SFIC and LFIC. Temporary coresfor SFIC are available with either disposable or locking cores.Temporary cores for LFIC are available with only lockablecores. Please note that temporary cores are not available incompetitor formats.

When requesting locksets or cylinders with temporary coreswhere Yale KeyMark cores will be used for the permanentmaster key system, the proper ordering procedures must befollowed to ensure the issuance of the correct cylinder collarsand housings. For all Temporary Construction core orders,both the cylinder and key code designations must be specified.See this page and pages 7-11 for How to Order Examples.

Small Format (SFIC)Small format temporary cores can be provided with twooptions: Disposable or Lockable.

Either disposable or K926 (6-pin lockable) or K927 (7-pinlockable) cores are furnished when the following cylinderdesignations are used:

Option 1: Disposable SFIC (K925)All locksets and cylinders will be provided with disposablethumb turn type cores. No keys are required. These cores aredisposable and cannot be returned. See pages 9 & 11 foradditional examples.

How to Order Example:Mortise Lockset to be Furnished with Temporary, DisposableSFICQty. Trim Lock Cylinder Key Code Hand Thickness Finish50 AUR 8705FL K625 CT6SD RHR 1-3/4" 626

For the above example, the customer would receive completemortise locksets with Yale KeyMark K660 – 1-1/4" housings,1765.375 collars and disposable thumb turn cores, K925. TheYale KeyMark permanent cores, K600, would be orderedseparately.

Option 2: Lockable SFIC (K926/K927)All locksets and cylinders will be provided with keyed alikestandard SFIC cores that are unrelated to the permanent masterkey system. Temporary operating and control keys arerequired, quantities must be specified. At the completion of theconstruction phase, these temporary cores can be returned. Seepages 9 & 11 for additional examples.

How to Order Example:Exit Device to be Furnished with Temporary, Lockable SFICQty. Device Trim Cylinder Key Code Hand Finish50 7150 626 K645 CT6SL RHR 626/630

For the above example, the customer would receive completeexit devices and trim with Yale KeyMark K680 housings, KP4collars and temporary locking SFIC cores, K926. The YaleKeyMark permanent cores, K600, would be ordered separately.

How To OrderSystems requiring SFIC temporary cores must be ordered eithercompletely with disposable, or lockable cores. Locksets and/or cylinder on a particular purchase order may not be mixedwith SFIC temporary core types.
