DUEL
Future President Andrew Jackson kills a man who accused him of
cheating on a horse race bet and then insulted his wife, Rachel. He
killed the man, but was hit also. The bullet lodged near his heart and
was never removed.
His wife died prior to Jackson becoming President in 1829.
Land requirements were dropped for voters before the 1828 election
More men could vote
“Common Man” Andrew Jackson and Democrats benefited from this
