General – Aluminum casement windows as shown in plans and specifi cations shall be thermal barrier Series 4300 as manufactured by Wojan Window & Door Corporation.

Material – Series 4300 shall be constructed from specially designed heavy gauge extruded section of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy split with a structural thermal barrier in accordance with Wojan Window & Door engineering standards and drawings.

Frame – All frame members to be precision miter cut, double corner-key reinforced, and securely fastened using two screws per corner. Available with or without nailing fi n.

Sash – All members to be precision-mitered and mechanically keyed, then joined by two screws fastened into integral extruded strengthening ribs on all four corners.

Hardware – Hinges to be 4-bar commercial stainless steel hinges. Operator to be dual arm actuated with both pull and push arm to be used in both casement and recommended awning applications. Cam locks to be provided with plated steel keeper to provide weather tight and secure locking. All screws are stalgard coated.

Weatherstripping – Double weatherstripped with TPR memory compression weather seals around complete inside and outside perimeter of sash. Exterior weatherstripping to be of a bulb-type design.

Finish – Aluminum sections pre-treated with a special fi ve-stage undercoating then painted with an electrostatic baked on polycron or duracron fi nish.

Glazing – Prime sash to be drop-in glazed with buytl tape, and vinyl drive-in glazing bead on interior. 4300 glazing shall be ¾” thick sealed insulated glass with an insulating air space between lites of glass.

Insect Screens – Optional window screens to be aluminum roll formed with 18 x 14 mesh fi berglass screen cloth. Screens are removable from the interior. (Screens are not intended to act as human barrier).

Erection (by others) – All windows shall be erected in prepared openings in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and installation drawings. Frame must be securely fastened, set plumb and level without twisting, bowing or springing. All units to be caulked in place per manufacturer’s recommendations. Manufacturer assumes no liability for damages by the trades or fi nal cleaning of glass or aluminum.
