Audience profile from research...

Joanne is a 40 year old woman who was a teenager in the 80s. She has a husband and kids and works as a secretary. She has always had a passion for music however her favourite is from the 80s. She was girly teenager who followed the fashions of Madonna as well as listening to her music and had posters of George Michael on her wall. She still listens to the 80s classics when she’s driving to work on a morning and likes to know what her icons are doing now. She is always buying the new ‘80s hits album’ and attends events such as ‘80s Rewind festival’. Her children love Lady Gaga and she is always singing her songs with them. Joanne likes to watch ‘Gok Wan’s Fashion Fix’ to keep up with all the new fashions.

Laura is an 17 year old girl who although wasn’t around in the 80s to enjoy the music then, loves it now. She loves listening to ‘80s classics’ and likes modern music from Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas who have an 80s influence behind their music.

Are there any differences to my original audience profile after creating

my final magazine pages?

I think that my magazine has stayed true to its original audience profile and that it would be basically the same now, after looking at my final pages, to what I wanted it to be during the audience research stage. Looking at the pages, I would say it is for a mainly female audience as it features stuff about fashion and is a more ‘girly’ pop magazine however it would also be suitable for men who like that genre of music. It is for an 80% female audience and 20% male audience. It is aimed at a young and older audience but not really in between as these are the age groups I discovered suitable after my audience research. My magazine features information about starts from the 80s, including ‘where are they now?’ However it also features information about new music such as how modern music has an 80s influence. Therefore my magazine is suitable for a younger audience too. It also features information about how a young girl can become the next material girl which is suitable for teenage girls who are interested in fashion. This also shows that the magazine is aimed at a female audience.
