Will be held August 21 - 23, 2020

At Wahconah Country Club in Dalton, MA

All entries must be submitted by August 1st.

Late entries will not be accepted.

As in the past, we expect the number of applications for entry

to our tournament to far exceed the number of available spots.

Because of this, we are asking teams to get their applications

in as early as possible this year. We would like to give teams

travelling ample notice and time to make their plans in these

difficult times. In addition, next year will be a very special

event as it is our 50th anniversary. As you know, loyal

tournament participants have priority when we select teams

for the field.

We appreciate all of you who continue to make the Little

Brown Jug one of the best tournaments in the Northeast

We look forward to seeing everyone at this year’s

tournament!

Format:

Tournament format is 54 hole, gross better ball medal play.

Notes:

We will be adhering to the USGA 4-Ball Stroke Play recom-

mendation 9-4; “It is recommended that in 4-Ball Stroke Play

Competition, if the course HCP of the side differs by more

than 8 strokes, each is reduced by 10%.”

WE HAVE NOT ADOPTED THE STROKE & DISTANCE LOCAL

RULE. A BALL LOST OR OUT OF BOUNDS MUST BE RE-

PLAYED FROM THE ORIGINAL SPOT.

Entire driving range to the right of 10th hole is out of bounds.

The Tournament Committee retains the right to place teams

in divisions based on past performance.

To simplify and expedite the registration process on Friday,

all tournament fees are paid in advance. If payment does not

accompany application, it will not be accepted. Please see

application for your two options, Walkers & Riders.

The Little Brown Jug would like to go paperless in the future.

We ask that you supply us with your e-mail address so future

correspondences can be done electronically.

ALL entries, including “Playing Sponsors” must be received

before August 1st.

The tournament committee will consider past performance,

current performance, tournament scores and HCP index when

placing teams in divisions

Setting the Field:

The low 28 Team combined HCP. Index will automatically qualify

for the Championship Division.

Championship/

1st Division: The low 14 scores after completion of Friday’s

round will comprise the Championship Division.

In event of a tie, the lowest Team HCP. Index will

remain in Championship Division. – The

remaining 14 Teams will comprise the 1st

Division. These Divisions will play the “Jug” tees.

2nd / 3rd Division: The next low 28 Teams will qualify for 2nd and 3rd

Division. After completion of Friday’s round, the

low 14 team scores will comprise the 2nd Division.

The remaining 14 teams will comprise the 3rd

Division. These Divisions will play from the Blue

tees.

4th / 5th Divisions: The next low 28 Teams will qualify for 4th and 5th

Division. After completion of Friday’s round, the

low 14 team scores will comprise the 4th Division.

The remaining 14 teams will comprise the 5th

Division. These Divisions will play from the

White tees.

6th / 7th Divisions: The next low 28 Teams will qualify for 6th and 7th

Division. After completion of Friday’s round, the

low 14 team scores will comprise the 6th Division.

The remaining 14 teams will comprise the 7th

Division. These Divisions will play from the Gold

tees.

Little Brown Jug Week Schedule

August 16th – 23rd

Free practice round. Please call our golf shop to set up tee time at

(413) 684-2864 opt.1

NOTE: Jug practice round can be used as entry to WCC’s Open

Four Ball tournament on August 14th, 15th or 16th.

Friday, August 21st

Round 1 - Morning tee times: 7:00 – 9:20

Afternoon tee times: 12:00 – 2:20

Each player will receive a $20 voucher to be used in the restaurant

on Friday

Lunch for players, provided under tent 11am – 4:30pm

Horse race betting takes place when all Friday rounds are finished

Saturday, August 22nd

Round 2 - Morning tee times: 7:00 – 9:20

Afternoon tee times: 12:00 – 2:20

Cocktail hour and sit down dinner for players with guest meals

available for purchase at registration

Sunday, August 23rd

Round 3 - Morning tee times: 7:00 – 9:20

Afternoon tee times: 12:00 – 2:20

Fruit/snack table located on 1st tee

Horse race payouts when divisions are completed

Presentation of Jugs immediately after final round

Donuts and coffee every morning

Players Pool - (1st - 45%, 2nd – 30%, 3rd – 15%, 4th – 10%)

Skins Pool – 4 separate pools – 2 tie/all-tie - (Champ. & 1st

Div.), (2nd & 3rd Div.), (4th & 5th Div.), (6th & 7th Div.)

Increased Prize Pool & now paying 5 Places

LBJ 2020 Tee Time

Last year, we are modifying our Friday Tee Time Policy

to put us in a better position to handle inclement weather.

Friday Tee Times will be based on division groupings

(C-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7). Each grouping will go off the same

tee within the same time frame.

If the group isn’t able to complete all 18 holes, we will

go back to the 9th hole completed in order to set the

field and pay skins.

If the entire group doesn’t complete at least 9 holes, that

group will be set based on combined handicap index’s.

Skins will carry over to Saturday in this situation.

We realize this may be an inconvenience for a few of you.

However, in fairness to the entire field, we needed to

implement this policy.
