49th DAC – ELC Discussion Areas

DAC’s Value to Exhibitors What constitutes value/ROI for exhibitors? How do we offer/promote DAC’s value?

Improving the Exhibitor Experience Outreach and Communications

Improving Space Selection/Floor Layout Must improve the booth selection process Clarify relocation process

Planning for the 50th DAC in Austin

Page 17: 49th DAC Exhibitor Meeting...Timeline October 31, 2011 Deadline to become an EDA Consortium member and receive a 10% discount on exhibit space. Penalty deadline to reduce/cancel at

Exhibitor Objectives at DAC

3. What were your major objective for exhibiting at the 48th DAC? (Check all that apply) Collect Sales Leads 79% New Product Introduction 30% Industry Exposure 91% Competitive Analysis 12% Meet with Existing Customers 74% Education 14% Other, please specify 12%

Page 18: 49th DAC Exhibitor Meeting...Timeline October 31, 2011 Deadline to become an EDA Consortium member and receive a 10% discount on exhibit space. Penalty deadline to reduce/cancel at

Focusing on ROI for Exhibitors

ROI different for large exhibitors versus small exhibitors Large exhibitors do it for visibility, “defensive”

positioning (concerns about losing market share) Small exhibitors need visibility, acquire new leads

Ideas: Perception audit/more comprehensive surveys: How

does DAC move perception needle for exhibitors? Change data recorded with registration (titles or job

description would be helpful in demonstrating ROI)

Page 19: 49th DAC Exhibitor Meeting...Timeline October 31, 2011 Deadline to become an EDA Consortium member and receive a 10% discount on exhibit space. Penalty deadline to reduce/cancel at

Improving the Exhibitor Experience

Greater MPA, EC and ELC outreach to exhibitors

Mentoring/training programs for new/smaller exhibitors

Better define “I love DAC” program

Hosting possible C-level event

Improving communications with exhibitors

Page 20: 49th DAC Exhibitor Meeting...Timeline October 31, 2011 Deadline to become an EDA Consortium member and receive a 10% discount on exhibit space. Penalty deadline to reduce/cancel at

General ELC Feedback

Too much content on conference side Attendees need time to visit show floor

Need strong co-marketing/networking events to leverage San Francisco location

Better define and leverage “I love DAC” program

We must attract new attendees … And appeal to emotions/sentimentality of past attendees for 50th DAC

Space Selection

Page 22: 49th DAC Exhibitor Meeting...Timeline October 31, 2011 Deadline to become an EDA Consortium member and receive a 10% discount on exhibit space. Penalty deadline to reduce/cancel at

Space Selection Process for 2013

DAC is looking to optimize the distribution of exhibitors to encourage a flow of attendees around the floor with the goal of returning to the shopping mall concept of previous years

Process: Space will be assigned in priority order beginning in

May for “anchor” companies and completing the process on-site in San Francisco

Floor plan design will be pre-drawn based on input of requirements from the exhibitors

Changes and relocations should be minimized

Page 23: 49th DAC Exhibitor Meeting...Timeline October 31, 2011 Deadline to become an EDA Consortium member and receive a 10% discount on exhibit space. Penalty deadline to reduce/cancel at

Exhibit Space Relocation Process1) All exhibitors are invited to let us know if they would

like to be considered for a relocation if/when space becomes available.

2) Any company requesting a change is put on a spreadsheet tab as part of the priority list that includes the company name, priority number, size of space requested and suite requirements

3) As space becomes available we offer it in priority order to exhibitors who fit the appropriate size and suite requirement for the available booth

4) The exhibitor has the option to accept or reject the offer. If they accept we relocate them, if they reject it then we move to next in line by priority.
