Article 1. Le 4me "Concours International de Vibraphone Claude Giot" se droulera Clermont-ferrand (france) du 26 au 31 octobre 2008. Ce Concours est organis par le forum International des Percussions en Auvergne. Directeur du Concours : Vronique Giot - Directeurs artistiques du Concours : Jean Geoffroy et franck Tortiller.

Article 2. Le Jury, compos de personnalits internationales, sera plac sous la prsidence dhonneur de etienne Perruchon.

Article 3. Ce Concours est ouvert aux percussionnistes, de haut niveau et de toutes nationalits, gs de 30 ans maximum le jour du concours.

Article 4. Date limite d'inscription : 01 juillet 2008 (le cachet de la poste faisant foi). en vue de procder l'preuve de prslection, les candidats devront envoyer un dossier complet d'inscription l'adresse du concours comprenant les documents suivants : le bulletin d'inscription dment complt et sign. une photo (noir & blanc) une photocopie de carte d'identit ou de passeport, ou toute pice officielle en tenant lieu. un curriculum vitae rdig en franais ou en anglais (maximum une page dactylographie) mentionnant les tablissements des tudes musicales, les principaux professeurs, les rcompenses obtenues, la situation professionnelle. le rglement ou document attestant le paiement des frais d'inscriptions, selon les modalits indiques l'article 5. trois copies de chaque morceau choisi.

La Direction du Concours est seule habilite dcider de l'admission des candidats aprs examen des dossiers. Les rsultats de l'preuve de prslection seront connus partir du 15 juillet 2008. Les candidats en seront aviss immdiatement par courrier. L'inscription des candidats slectionns deviendra alors dfinitive. Tout dossier incomplet sera refus.

Article 5. Frais d'inscriptiona- Les frais d'inscription sont fixs 80 euros et doivent-tre envoys en mme temps que l'inscription. Ils doivent-tre rgls par chque (uniquement pour la france), par mandat cash ou par virement. tous frais annexes au paiement sont la charge des candidats. Article 6. epreuvesLes candidats retenus pour participer au Concours devront passer les preuves suivantes et respecter les minutages imposs. Les candidats seront autoriss jouer avec les partitions.

Chaque candidat devra proposer 3 pices, aux choix, diffrentes (une par tour), tout styles confondus : contemporain, jazz, classique.

Pour le premier tour liminatoireo Une pice impose (envoye 7 mois avant le concours) crite

par Julien Dassio Une pice au choix du candidat dans le style de son choix :

Pour le deuxime tour liminatoire ( 1/2 Finale)o Une pice impose (envoye 7 mois avant le concours) crite

par Bruno Giner.o Une improvisation libre, sans accompagnement, de 5 minutes

dans le style musical aux choix du candidat.o Une pice au choix du candidat dans le style de son choix :

contemporain, jazz, classique (cette pice ne doit pas avoir t joue par le candidat lors du 1er tour).

Pour le troisime tour ( Finale)o Pice au choix du candidat dans le style de son choix : contemporain,

jazz, classique (cette pice ne doit pas avoir t joue par le candidat lors des 1er et 2me tours).

o Une pice impose (envoye 6 mois avant le concours) crite par etienne Perruchon pour vibraphone solo et trio cordes.

Article 7. Les concurrents joueront dans un ordre fix par tirage au sort qui aura lieu le 26 octobre 17 heures. Ils devront-tre personnellement et imprativement prsents cette occasion. Il y aura un deuxime tirage au sort pour l'preuve finale. Les candidats en retard pour les preuves ne pourront exiger de se faire entendre. Toutes les preuves seront publiques.

Article 8. Tout programme inscrit sur le bulletin d'inscription sera dfinitif. Le Jury se rserve le droit de ne pas accepter les pices choisies s'il estime le niveau insuffisant.

Article 9. La Direction du Concours mettra la disposition des concurrents tout matriel de diffusion dont les candidats pourraient avoir besoin. Les candidats souhaitant proposer des pices avec lectronique doivent mettre dans leur dossier d'inscription la fiche technique exacte de ce qu'ils souhaitent.

Article 10. instrumentsLe Concours mettra la disposition des candidats des vibraphones, tant sur scne, que dans les loges ou salles de rptition. en fonction du nombre de candidats, il se peut que les instruments mis disposition ne correspondent pas obligatoirement au modle et la marque d'instrument du Concours. Tout cela tant galement fonction du soutien apport par les diffrents fabricants d'instruments. Les candidats pourront apporter et utiliser leur instrument personnel condition que le temps de montage et dmontage n'influence pas sur la dure des preuves.

Article 11. PrixPremier Prix : 8 500 + 1 concert Genve avec le Centre International de Percussiondeuxime Prix : 4 500 troisime Prix : 2 000 Prix spcial du public (prix Claude Giot) : 500

Article 12. Le Jury dlibrera l'issue de chaque preuve liminatoire et de l'preuve finale. en cas d'galit, la voix du Prsident sera prpondrante. Les dcisions du Jury sont sans appel.

Article 13. Le Jury se rserve le droit de ne pas dcerner tous les prix. Le Jury a la possibilit de dcerner des mentions des concurrents ayant particip la deuxime preuve liminatoire. Le Premier Prix du Concours ne pourra pas tre partag. Pour les autres prix, en cas d'exaequo, le montant des rcompenses sera divis.

Article 14. La remise des rcompenses aura lieu le vendredi 26 octobre 2008 l'issue des preuves finales.

Article 15. Voyages et sjoursLes frais de voyage sont la charge des participants. La Direction du Concours pourra sur simple demande, envoyer aux candidats une liste d'htels de diffrentes catgories et de foyer pour les candidats qui en feront la demande sur le bulletin d'inscription.La Direction du Concours remboursera les frais d'hbergement des candidats ayant pass avec succs la premire preuve liminatoire, cela pour la dure ncessaire leurs preuves, sur la base d'allocation journalire de 50 euros sur prsentation d'un justificatif.

Article 16. La Direction du Concours est en droit dutiliser les donnes fournies sur la fiche dinscription officielle du Concours et dans les annexes. Les candidats donnent leur accord la Direction du Concours pour une ventuelle retransmission par radio, tlvision ou/et par internet de diffrentes preuves du Concours de moins de trois minutes ainsi que pour un ventuelle utilisation des photos prises lors des diffrentes preuves du Concours.

Article 17. Le fait de concourir implique de la part des concurrents l'acceptation, pure et simple, du rglement. en cas de litige, seule la rdaction en langue franaise fera foi.

rULeS Article 1. The 4rth "World Vibe International Competition Claude Giot" will take place in Clermont-ferrand (france) from october 26 to october 31, 2008. This competition is organized by "forum International des Percussions en Auvergne". Director : Vronique Giot - Artistic directors of the Competition : Jean Geoffroy and franck Tortiller.

Article 2. The Jury will be comprised of eminent international musicians and presidency of honour by etienne Perruchon.

Article 3. This competition is open to high-level percussionists all nationalities and 30 year old maximum in the daytime of the competition.

Article 4. registration and preselections Deadline for registration : july 1st, 2008 (date of postmark).In order to proceed to the preselection, the applicants must send a complete registration dossier to the address of the competition including the following documents :o the application form, duly completed and signed photocopy of an identity card, passport or any official document identification.o a resume written out in french or in english (maximum two typewritten pages) mentioning schools, conservatories, musical lies, instructors, awards and sent professional statuso a recent small identity photograph (black and white)o the payment or a receipt wing payment of the entrance fee according to the procedure mentioned in Article 5.

The organizing Committee alone is entitled to decide on the acceptance of the candidates, which will be made public on July 15, 2008. The candidates will be informed immediately by mail. The registration of the selected contestants will then become final at the then present currency.

Article 5. entrance feea- The entrance fee 80 euros must be sent at the same time as the application. It must be paid by cash money or by money order payable to the order of "Concours f.I.P.A." Article 6. roundsThe contestants selected to participate in the competition will have to enter the following rounds and respect the imposed time limits. The contestants mat' play with scores.

3 different pieces will be choosen by the candidate, for each rounds, in his style (classical, jazz, contempary)

First eliminatory round (prliminary round)o Piece imposed (it will be sent 7 months before) written by Julien

Dassi.o Piece chosen by the candidate in his style (classical, jazz,

contempary).

second eliminatory round (Semi-finals)o Piece imposed (it will be sent 7 months before) written by Bruno

Giner.o Piece chosen by the candidate in his style (classical, jazz,

contempary) but not played during the first eliminatory round.o Improvisation, without acompaniment, of 5 minutes (style chosen

by the candidate).

Final roundo Piece chosen by the candidate in his style (classical, jazz,

contempary) but not played during the eliminatory round.o Piece imposed (it will be sent 6 months before) written by etienne

Perruchon for solo vibraphone and strings trio.

Article 7. The contestants will play in an order determined by a ballot on october 25, 2008 at 5 p.m. They must imperatively and personally be present on this occasion. A second ballot will take place for the final round. All rounds will be held in public.

Article 8. every program registred on the registration form will be definitive. The Jury reserves the right not to accept the chosen pieces if it estimates that the level is insufficient.

Article 9. The organizers of the competition will allow the participants to use recording equipment for tape reading. Thanks to write on the application form which equipment you need.

Article 10. instrumentsThe competition will make available for the participants the greatest makes of vibraphone; this will apply for the stage, boxes and rehearsal rooms. According to the number of participants, the instruments made available in the boxes and rehearsing rooms may not necessarily suit the model and make of the competition instrument. All this equally depends on the help provided by the different instrument makers. The participants will be allowed to use their own instruments as long as the tune needed for assembling and taking them apart bas no bearing on the duration of the rounds.

Article 11. PrizesFirst Prize : 8 500 and a concert at Genve with le Centre International de Percussionsecond Prize : 4 500 third Prize : 2 000 the Audience Prize (Prize Claude Giot) : 500

Article 12. The Jury will go into deliberation at the end of each eliminatory round as well as after the final round. In the event of a tie, the President will have the deciding vote. The decisions of the Jury are final.

Article 13. The Jury reserves the right not to award all the prizes. The Jury is entitled to grant special distinctions to contestants having entered the second eliminatory round. The lst Grand Prix can not be shared. for the other prizes, in the event of a tic, the award will be divided.

Article 14. The Awards Ceremony will be the october 31, 2008 after the end of the final rounds.

Article 15. travel and accomodationsThe travel expenses are paid by the contestants. The organizing Committee will send at the candidates' request a list of hotels of various categories or will book a bed in hostels for candidates who will make the demand on the registeration form and within the limits of the available places. The organizing Committee will refund the lodging expenses of candidates who successfully pass the first eliminatory round and during the rounds in which they will have competed, on the basis of a daily allowance of 50 euros, upon presentation of an invoice.

Article 16. The organizing Committee are allowed to use the data from the official registration form of the competition and in the annex. Candidates allow the organizers to broadcast on radio, tv and/or internet the heats of competition less that 3 minutes. They also allow them to use pictures taken during the Competition.

Article 17. The very fact of competing implies the acceptation by the contestants of all the rules concerning the competition. In the event of any litigation, the french version of the rides will take precedence.
