Tuesday 4/28: Home Assignments These activities should be completed on the Seesaw App. If you are unable to access this app, please complete these activities using the My Fundations Journal previously sent home. If assignments are completed offline, please upload pictures of completed work via Seesaw or email your teacher each day to confirm work has been completed. Fundations: 10 minutes 1) Drill-Sound Warmup - Assigned on Seesaw or have students look at each poster below. They should practice ALL R-Controlled Vowel sounds, then choose FIVE favorite vowel teams to practice, saying the letter, keyword, and sound for each. Example: “a r, car, /ar/” 2) Word Talk- Assigned on Seesaw or students may use the template below or copy into their Fundations Journals. Students should read each word aloud, then practice marking each word by underlining the baseword and circling the suffix.

Assigned on Seesaw. If writing in the Fundations Journal is easier, please feel free to upload a picture of the work into the Seesaw assignment each day using the camera tool! If Seesaw is unavailable, please complete in your Fundations Journal.

Writing Prompt: Would you rather read a book or do math? Using the template below: 1) State your opinion; 2) Write 3 reasons that support your opinion (1 in each box); 3) Write a conclusion at the end, restating your opinion.

Use the "Convince Your Reader " anchor chart to help you put your sentences together. Use starters such as: I think... For example... Another reason... In conclusion...

Make sure you start each sentence with a capital, end with punctuation, and check your spelling. Refer to the "Ways to Spell Words" anchor chart.

Add a picture to go along with each reason.

Math: 30 minutes1) 15-2: Make Halves and Fourths – Assigned on Seesaw.

Today, you will be learning more about equal shares of shapes. This information is detailed in the 4 boxes along the top of image A, below. Note that image B shows halves as shapes that are divided into two equal shares and fourths as shapes that are divided into four equal shares.Then, in your Fundations Journal, please complete #3, #4, #5, & #6 from image C below, by copying the shapes into your journal and coloring the shares. Looking for a challenge… try #7 as well!

You can record yourself describing the life cycle of a chicken or draw it in your Fundations Journal.
