2. The Yokuts are in the South-west part of California. Their climate is dry, either hot or cold. They had tons of oak trees, trees are very important to the Yokuts. 3. They ate acorns, seeds, roots, birds, and fish. The men hunted for animals and birds. The women used stone tools to remove the shells of the acorns. 4. Some Yokuts built round houses and others made cone-shaped houses. The men made frames out of willow poles and hanged them on the walls of their house. The women wove mats to cover the floors of their house. 5. There was lots of oak wood, water, and stone. The women made stone tools to remove the shells of acorns.
