• CLEER!obtained!a!second!SEP!grant!for!$44,500!from!CDPHE.!This!money!will!be!used!

for!a!2015!program!to!provide!free!home!visits!from!energy!coaches!and!free!energy!

efficiency!upgrades!for!27!lowFincome!homeowners.!Additional!funding!from!the!Town!

of!Carbondale!will!cover!30!households!in!that!community.!Energy!Outreach!Colorado!

will!handle!income!qualification!paperwork!for!recipients.!All!four!energy!utilities!

serving!Garfield!County!–!Xcel!Energy,!Holy!Cross!Energy,!Glenwood!Springs!Electric!

a!power!purchase!agreement!(PPA)!with!an!upfront!fee!of!$3,500,!the!plant!will!save!

the!town!an!estimated!$102,000!over!20!years,!or!about!15!percent!of!total!plant!

financed!by!a!PPA,!the!array!will!save!an!estimated!$202,000!over!the!next!20!years,!

and!generate!enough!power!to!offset!the!plant’s!annual!electric!use!by!100!percent.!

Matthew!Shmigelsky!continues!to!provide!ongoing!coaching!and!technical!assistance!on!

this!project.!

• The!Roaring!Fork!School!District!is!under!contract!for!a!379Fkilowatt!array!at!Roaring!

Fork!High!School!in!Carbondale.!It!is!currently!slated!for!completion!at!the!end!of!June.!

• Economic!development:!All!three!projects!are!being!installed!by!Sunsense!Solar!of!

Carbondale.!The!combined!contracts!are!worth!$2.3!million.!Of!this!amount,!$1!million!

to!explore!a!solar!array!at!the!district’s!new!clinic!in!Battlement!Mesa.!This!project!is!

the!item!above.!If!this!proves!successful,!Alpine!Bank!may!offer!this!financing!to!a!wider!

• No!activity!this!quarter.!This!project!was!completed!in!Q2.!

Western!Slope!CNG!Collaborative!• Although!the!Garfield!County!FMLD!awarded!a!$25,000!grant!to!GCE!for!its!CNG!work,!

terms!of!the!grant!award!were!not!aligning!with!the!program.!After!extensive!

discussions,!the!GCE!Board!voted!to!decline!the!grant!award.!As!a!result,!minimal!work!

in!the!area!was!planned!for!the!remainder!of!2014.!!

• One!conference!call!was!held!on!Nov.!13!to!provide!an!outlook!for!CNG!activity!in!2015.!

This!included!work!by!Garfield!Clean!Energy!through!the!Western!Slope!CNG!
