SUNDAY AUGUST 198AM – 2PM FRESHMEN ORIENTATION CHECK-INYOUNG BALLROOM

Head over to Young Ballroom to officially check-in for orientation (both Freshmen and Transfer Student Orientation). Here you will receive all of your essentials for the next several days.

Parents and family members, join your students in Young Ballroom and visit with University staff to learn about important resources and programs on campus.

CONVOCATION CEREMONIES This unique ceremony serves as your formal introduction to the Class of 2022. In this session, you’ll:

• Listen to Dr. Robin E. Bowen address the significance of your decision to attend college.• Be presented as an official new member of your academic college.

8PM PLAYFAIR TUCKER COLISEUM

Join us for an enthusiastic and energetic experience! You’ll meet more people in this one session than you probably will meet all semester! Wear your tennis shoes and come ready to have fun!

9PM TECH THE NIGHT AWAY TUCKER/DOC BRYAN

Don’t miss the fun and exciting end to your first day at college! Come hang out and enjoy funnel cakes, roasted corn, and tater twists. Enjoy carnival rides with your new friends, or take some hilarious pics in the photo booth. There is so much to do at this event— you’re guaranteed to have a great time!

One of the largest annual campus events, the Involvement Fair gives students the opportunity to learn about clubs and organizations, departments, services, and community organizations. Get your passport, visit all the booths, and load up on free food and give-aways. Don’t forget to turn in your passport for a chance to win over $2,500 in prizes.

6:30PM RESIDENCE HALL FLOOR MEETINGSRESIDENCE HALLS

Join your Resident Assistant (location to be posted on your floor) to meet your floor mates for the year, gain an understanding of the building, and learn about your role in your hall community.

This event is designed for new and current students who are seeking part-time, on-campus employment. You will meet representatives from different on-campus departments and learn about employment opportunities across campus. Remember to bring your Tech ID.

5PM DINNER & PEP RALLYTHONE STADIUM

Come out for a stadium style dinner and catch the spirit! Join the spirit squads, students, faculty, staff, and athletic department as we kick off the year with some enthusiasm. You’ll begin learning cheers, songs, and traditions that will make you a true Wonder Boy and Golden Sun. Don’t miss the fun, prizes, and give-aways!

Here is your chance to get a first look at the 2018 Wonder Boys football team as they prepare for the upcoming Great American Conference season. Fight On!

Join your Residence Hall Staff and Orientation Leaders in the lobby/courtyard areas of your hall for dessert. This is a great chance to connect with other new students living in your building.

Not living on campus? Come to Doc Bryan to meet fellow commuter students and enjoy some cool dessert. This is the perfect opportunity to connect with other students living in the area.

Here’s your chance to get a one-of-a-kind Tech t-shirt! Bring a gently worn shirt from high school or another university and trade it for an original Tech t-shirt! If you don’t have a trade, you can purchase a new t-shirt for only $1! All clothing and money gathered will be donated to a local charity. Don’t miss the opportunity.

5PM – 8PM RSO EVENT NIGHTVARIOUS LOCATIONS

Several of the Registered Student Organizations you visited during the Involvement Fair will be hosting events and socials to help you meet their members and gain a better understanding of what experiences these groups can offer you. Come enjoy some fresh watermelon and a good time with your friends and new classmates. The 7th Annual “Seed Spitting Competition” will be held along with water baseball, flag football, ultimate frisbee, disc golf, and more. Here’s your chance to be crowned the first Intramural Champion of the school year!

THURSDAY AUGUST 23

6PM – 8PM MEET THE GREEKSHINDSMAN QUAD

Curious about what Fraternity and Sorority Life has to offer? Come out for some food, fun, and a chance to talk with members of the Greek community. All fraternities and sororities will be there to talk with you about their experiences. This is an opportunity to see recruitment schedules and ask any questions you might have about Fraternity and Sorority Life.

8PM FOOD TRUCK AND FUN NIGHTCHAMBERS PARKING LOT

Who puts Food Trucks and Fun together? We do! Join Residence Life for an awesome night of amazing food in a festival like atmosphere to unwind during Welcome Week. Over ten different food trucks will provide dinner options for $10. Residence hall students receive a voucher worth $10 towards the food truck of their choice.

FRIDAY AUGUST 24

5:30PM – 8PM DIVE INTO DIVERSITYDOC BRYAN COURTYARD

Join the Department of Diversity and Inclusion and several student organizations for food, fellowship, and prizes.

6PM – 8PM ISS WELCOME BACK LUAUDOC BRYAN COURTYARD

Join us for a Hawaiian themed annual party to welcome international students back to campus. New and returning students will celebrate the beginning of a new semester with food, games, and dance music.

9PM BLACKLIGHT PARTYYOUNG BALLROOM

Don’t miss out on the party of the year! Enjoy the campus nightlife with glow sticks, black lights, and a DJ playing the hottest club music. No cover charge, just be one of the first 500 to enter and get your free white t-shirt to join the party.

SATURDAY AUGUST 25

5PM MARCH TO MAINCENTENNIAL PLAZA AT BASWELL HALL

Students, faculty, and staff will all meet up at Centennial Plaza for this inaugural event. After a brief word from Dr. Robin E. Bowen and Mayor Randy Horton, we will march our way down El Paso Avenue for the fun and entertainment that awaits in downtown Russellville!

5:30PM MAIN STREET RUSSELLVILLE

Take the time to relax and explore all that downtown Russellville has to offer. Check out the shops, have a meal, a coffee, or perhaps drop a few quarters in the vintage arcade — you and your new friends will love this night out! Businesses will be offering special discounts and coupons to students. Don’t miss out!

7PM MUSIC DOWNTOWN @ SUNDOWNDEPOT PARK

Featuring The Funk Donors and Morgan Road. Stop by the Depot Park in Downtown Russellville and hear some great live music. Free admission!
