Wyeth Ireland is the largest employer in the pharmaceuticalsector in Ireland: an industry leader in a strong anddynamic sector of Ireland’s economy, with a 30 year historyof success and investment in the country.

As well as its pharmaceutical business,Wyeth Ireland includes a largely andhighly successful infant nutrition business manufacturing SMA infant formula, a world leading animal health company, and the largest biopharmaceutical campus in Europe.

In early 2008, backed by its newly acquiredstatus as an independent affiliate withinWyeth’s worldwide operations, the company decided it was time that the storyof Wyeth Ireland became better known.

In fact there were two stories that thecompany wanted to tell.

Not only was there a need to tell peopleabout the company and the biotechnologyindustry, Wyeth also wanted to explainthe scale and the importance of itsinvestment in potential treatments forAlzheimer’s disease.

With a high profile event in Dublin in April2008, PM Squared helped Wyeth Irelandto tell its story to an influential audience ofkey stakeholders in business, government,medicine, science and patient advocacy.

The Dublin event required all aspects ofthe PM Squared service offer and involveda small, focused project team workingas part of a virtual team with the clientand its medical PR agency.

Content management and delivery

A programme of senior level engagement

was at the heart of a content planning

process that helped Wyeth Ireland plan

and deliver a compelling event. Workshops

and executive interviews produced the

core material for a detailed content plan,

which we wrote to address all of the key

messages in a challenging content brief.

We then assigned the content areas to the

internal and external guest speakers and

live debate participants.

Once the final content plan was agreed

with Wyeth, it formed the foundation for

all of the detailed content development of

the event before, during and after. It

informed all of the briefs that PM Squared

prepared and delivered to the expert guest

speakers in person and by conference call.

It also gave us the structure for the scripts

and discussion guides that we drafted for

senior level internal people and the

professional event host.

Creative and technical production

PM Squared created an impressive and

professional environment for this event at

one of the most prestigious venues in

Dublin: The Round Room at The Mansion

House. We designed a set and stage

environment that best supported content

and presentation delivery, we handled all

onsite rehearsals, stage direction and

technical management.

We also created original speaker support

slides for the event and managed the

production of slide decks from guest

speakers: editing and re-designing where

appropriate to ensure consistency with

brand and key objectives of the event.

As part of the event, we also created a

rolling on screen corporate presentation

about Wyeth in Ireland and wrote the

company’s new corporate brochure,

unveiled on the day of the event.

Delegate management and logistics

We managed a complex multi-channel

invitation strategy for Wyeth Ireland via

targeted email and online registration

through the event website. With delegates

including government ministers, special

advisors, senior academics, clinicians and

business leaders, as well employees and

the business media, there was no margin

for error.

We delivered a highly effective process

and also managed all on site delegate

logistics, venue, catering and hospitality.

Project management

PM Squared’s project management expertise

and processes kept the project on track,

on time and on budget. It also helped us

to deliver an event that achieved widespread

media coverage and helped Wyeth Ireland

meet its core objectives of promoting Wyeth

as a leader in the important biotechnology

industry in Ireland and the importance of

that industry to the Irish economy. And

positioning Wyeth as committed to delivering

innovative therapeutic solutions amongst

the key stakeholders.
