5 Enemies Of Productivity
• I think you have read many articles about how you could increase your productivity. We have also written about it in our blog article, called “6 Steps to Stay Productive All Day Long”. Despite being widely discussed, productivity can become difficult to find, because many employees think that productivity only means working harder.
• If you want to boost productivity without putting in huge effort, you can identify your enemies and try to beat them.

1. Lack of sleep.
• It is funny, but productivity starts from your bed. If you didn’t sleep well last night, you can’t expect to have highly productive day. Without a good rest you can’t be efficient at work. Sometimes we can work long hours with only four hours of sleep, but only for short periods of time.

2. Multitasking.• It is nice if you are good at multitasking. But it can’t be the key
to do different tasks simultaneously. Multitasking has become a working culture. People, who are always multitasking, have trouble focusing their attention for longer timespans. Due to our multitasking, we are in a rush, and don’t spend enough time on a single task. Even worse, we don’t finish tasks properly, or miss and forget things.

3. Interruptions.
• It is worth having a coffee break, eating some apple or talking with a colleague for five minutes. Pauses help to maintain focus. But if you spend up to 1 hour (or more) on social networking sites, then surfing the Net, and after that you have a meeting with colleagues about nothing. This can’t even be called interruptions, this is simply a waste of time.

4. Stress.
• Stress is the enemy number one. Stress reduces your focus, it is harder to solve problems and it costs a lot of energy. You can read our article about how to deal with stress.

5. Procrastination.
• Everything that you can do in two minutes, DO it immediately. If you put your small tasks day after day into the to-do list, you will start feeling bad about those small tasks piling up. It is impossible to avoid doing your tasks, so it is better to do them and proceed forward.
