John Maxwell's book The 21 irrefutable laws of leadership, underlines a large variety of laws, ideas and processes which I found very interesting for the construction of the ongoing process of leadership.

1. The law of victory

Sharing an unwillingness to take defeat is a vital mindset of victorious leader. Any alternative to winning is completely intolerable to them. Consequently, they think at what must be done to reach victory.

The best leaders feel forced to rise to a challenge and do everything in their mean to achieve triumph for their people. They will find a way for the team to win

2. The law of sacrifice

There Is No Success Without Sacrifice – Every person who has accomplish any success in their life has made sacrifices to do so. Successful leaders sacrifice much that is good in turn to devote themselves to what is best. Leaders Are Often Asked to Give Up More Than Others – The core of leadership is putting others ahead of yourself. It’s doing what is best for the team. The cost of leadership: Leaders must be disposed to renounce more than the people they lead. A Leader Must Give Up to Go Up

3. The law of solid grounds

Character Communicates Consistency – Leaders’ ability to lead and perform aren’t suppose to change on a particular day. Their strengths must be showed constantly.Character Communicates Potential –An honest, disciplined, and hardworking leader will have a greater potential than a dishonest, impulsive and lazy person. Character Communicates Respect – Leaders warrant respect by making sound decisions, by acknowledging their mistakes, and by putting what’s best for their followers and the organization in front of their personal agendas. It is unthinkable to break the trust of your people and imagine to keep influencing them. Trust is the foundation of leadership.

4. The law of navigation

Process of a good leader who take his people on a journey. Navigators Draw on Past Experience – Every past success and even more past failure will give the leader a valuable source of information and wisdom. Navigators Listen To What Others Have to Say – Navigating leaders take ideas from many sources. They always think in terms of trusting on a team, not just themselves. Navigators Make Sure Their Conclusions Represent Both Faith and Fact – A leader has to have a constant positive attitude. Moreover, he also have to be able to see the facts realistically, balancing optimism and realism, faith and fact.
