Sections > Define
• There are three sections to be blended. Draw section 1. Note the
sections must have same number of sides. Also, pay attention to the
starting point and direction of the section.
• Select FDP as SP > Sketch > sketch a rectangle > OK

• You can sketch a square with the center at the CS origin by
sketching the square carefully.
• Enter the distance of the second section from the first.

• See Tangency conditions as above and experiment with
different options.

Dimensions
• All sections are squares of size, 30, 50, and 100 whose centers
are aligned.
• Depth 1 and 2 are 40 and 50, each.

• Create the basic part by Extrude with Spline
• Shapes > Blend
• Click Remove Material
• Placement > Sketch > pick the bottom of the block for SP >
Sketch
• Sketch the first section with spline (use 4 points) > OK
• Placement/Insert > Sketch > sketch the second section with
spline (use same number as in previous sketch) > OK
• Adjust the depth by dragging the handle or enter the value

General Blend
• Select Front DP as sketch plane
• Accept the feature creation direction as is.
• Select Top DP as top reference plane.
• Sketch section1 and then place a rotation axis > Done Sketch
• Enter rotation angles about x,y,z-axes.
• Sketch section2 and then place a rotation axis.
• Continue? Yes > sketch section3 with a rotation axis.
• Continue > No.
• Enter the depths. Depth is the distance from the reference
coordinate to the next reference coordinate.

Dimensions
The centers of rotation are at same level.
Note that rotation is
done about local x,y,z-
axes in Pro/E.

Blend with Vertex
1. Create three sections as given above.
2. For the last section, use only three sides. One more side will be
given by blend vertex as:
Pick on a vertex (now highlighted), then, use RMB to bring up
the shortcut menu > Blend Vertex (or Sketch > Feature Tools >
Blend Vertex).

Blend with a Point and Different Cap Type
In these examples the last sections are made of a point. Only the
first and last section can have a zero-area, i.e., a point. For a
point section, sketch a point with
Sketch > Point > place a point
And then, place a reference coordinate. For parallel blend, the
point section automatically results in a sharp cap. For non-
parallel blend, once the last section is defined as a point, either
Sharp or Smooth cap can be specified by Cap Type after done
with sketch.
