Differential Indicators:Indicators are designed to actuate at approximately80% of bypass valve cracking pressure. It isrecommended that an indicator with a bypass setting of 100 psid is used with a non-bypass housing.

Surge Control:This optional feature is used to dampen pressuresurges or spikes to avoid premature actuation of theindicator. Surge control delays the indicator response.

Thermal Lockout:The Thermal Lockout prevents premature signaling ofa bypass condition created by viscous fluid duringcold start-ups. Normal indicator actuation capabilityis resumed once the operating temperature of thefluid reaches approximately 80 Deg. F.

Differential Indicators: Indicators are designed to actuate at approximately80% of bypass valve cracking pressure. It is recommended that an indicatorwith a bypass setting of 100 psid is used with a non-bypass housing.

Surge Control: This optional feature is used to dampen pressure surges orspikes to avoid premature actuation of the indicator. Surge control delays theindicator response.

Thermal Lockout: The Thermal Lockout prevents premature signaling of abypass condition created by viscous fluid during cold start-ups. Normalindicator actuation capability is resumed once the operating temperature of thefluid reaches approximately 80 Deg. F.

The ductile iron filter head designprovides for SAE ports along with a space savingmanifold mounting pattern that is interchangablewith many competitive models. This product featuresthe popular HF4 automotive standard. WesternFilter’s proprietary BetaPoreTM 5 layer media isoffered in a variety of PakTM designs. Five mediagrades are offered down to 4.0µ(c) and Z-PakTM

stainless steel media is optional. Element corecollapse options range from 150 to 3000 PSI. Thedifferential pressure indicator line is designed to work with the wide assortment of bypass valves.Thermal lockout and surge control are two keyfeatures incorporated in many of the valves.

Similar to other HF4 series, the W551exceeds the operating, fatigue, and burst pressure ofmost competitive models and makes it the idealchoice for higher cyclic and heavy-duty applicationswithout the higher cost of going to a full 6,000 PSIrated filter. This product features the popular HF4automotive standard. Western Filter’s proprietaryBetaPoreTM 5 layer media is offered in a variety ofPakTM designs. Five media grades are offered down to4.0µ(c) and Z-PakTM stainless steel media is optional.Element core collapse options range from 150 to3000 PSI. The differential pressure indicator line isdesigned to work with the wide assortment of bypassvalves. Thermal lockout and surge control are twokey features incorporated in many of the indicators.
