CALIFORNIA Capital city- Sacramento Fact 1- ceded by MEXICO by the treaty of Guadalupe

– hidalgo, concluded feb.2, 1848, and proclaimed July 4 , 1848. from then until statehood, California had a Military government until dec.20, 1849, and then a local civil government. It never had a territorial from a government.

HAWII~capital city- Honolulu~Agriculture- sugarcane, pineapples, nursery stock,

metal products, stone, clay and glasses products.~ Hawii was once an independent kingdom. (1810-1893

the flag was design at the request of the king Kamehameha. it has eight stripes of white, red and blue that represents the eight main islands. The flag of great Britian is emblazoned in the upper left corner to honor Hawii’s friendship with the British. The combination of the stripes of the united states flag and the union jack of the great Britian is said to have pleased the merchant shippers of both nations. Flag adopted for official state use in 1959.

The Illinois flag is a simple representation of the great seal of the Illinois against a white background. In 1969, the general assembly voted to add the word “Illinois” under the great seal of the flag. The states name was added to the flag to ensure that people not familiar with the great seal of Illinois would still recognize the banner.

The 13 rays of red and gold on the top half of the flag represents both the 13 original colonials of the union, and the rays of the western setting sun. red and gold were also the colors carried by Coronado's Spanish expedition I search of the seven cities of Cibola in 1540. the bottom half of the flag has the same liberty blue as the united states flag .Since Arizona was the largest producer of the copper in the nation, a copper star was placed in the flag’s center. The state flag of new jersey is buff colored. The state coat of arms is emblazoned in the center. The shield has three plows with a horses head above it. Two women represent the goddesses of liberty and Agriculture. A ribbon at the bottom includes the year of independence in 1776 and reads: liberty and prosperity. The new jersey state flag was formally adopted in 1896.

NEBRASKA Capital city Agriculture- cattle, corn, hogs,

soybeans, wheat, sorghum. Industry- food processing, machinery ,

A banner for the state of Nebraska shall consist of a reproduction of the great seal of the state, charged on the center in gold and silver on a field of national blue.

The yellow and red symbol colors are the colors of Spain. first brought to new Mexico by Spanish explorers in 1540. on new Mexico's flag we see a red sun with rays stretching out from it. There are four groups of rays in each
