– Made of 2 halves– Ventilation ducts– 3 man holes on both sides– Water head– Bus– End Shields– Gear Terminal Box

– Built of Laminations (0.5 mm)– Staggered Layer– Hydraulic pressed and heated– Has cooling ducts in each part– Punching done to – accomodate windings

ROTOR

• It has the following constructional features:– Made after forging from vaccum cast steel ingot– Longitudnal slots– Transverse Slots– Rotor wedges as damper winding– Cooling slots

• Process of making winding:– Conductors of definite length– Conductors: hollow or without cavity.– Stacked together– Silicon strips between the conductors– Heated and insulation is done– Insulation taken off from ends– Transposition done at proper

distances
