MISSION:

New Orleans Family Justice Center is a partnership of

agencies dedicated to ending family violence, child

abuse, sexual assault, and stalking through preven-

tion and coordinated response by providing compre-

hensive client-centered, empowerment services in a

single location.

VISION:

Our vision is a future where we all work together to

meet the needs of family violence, child abuse, sex-

ual assault, and stalking survivors through compre-

hensive and accessible services, education and per-

petrator accountability. Through a coordinated and

co-located model we strive to break the vicious gen-

erational cycle and community impact of family vio-

lence, child abuse, sexual assault, and stalking.

Service Pledge

Provide survivor-centered services.

Create an atmosphere and culture of empower-ment.

Enhance partner collaboration and excellence.

Anti-Stalking Program (C.C.R.) – Coordinates the Stalking Network and educational outreach to train and inform the community and agencies about stalking issues and to be a resource to victims of stalking.

Child Advocacy Center – Children’s Hospital Child-focused, facility-based program in which representatives from many disciplines, including law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health, medical and victim advocacy, and child advocacy, work together to conduct interviews and make team decisions about investigation, treatment, management and prosecution of child abuse cases.

Children’s Bureau Private non-profit agency that provides specialized counseling services for children who have been exposed to family violence and other types of traumatic situations.

Crescent House Healing & Empowerment Center Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans Crescent House provides comprehensive free services. Services include:

Legal Advocacy

Immigration Legal Program – Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans Provides a broad range of immigration counseling and representation to immigrants and their families.

NOPD Domestic Violence Unit and Sexual Assault Unit Specialized Investigative Units responsible for conducting follow-up investigations of all Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault crimes. The specialized units provide assistance to victims throughout the Judicial Process as well as information regarding various support groups.

Invest in Yourself - Education and Employment Program

Trauma Recovery Services - provides sexual assault crisis counseling. Services include individual and group counseling, medical advocacy, referrals, outreach, and education.

Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office Advocates provide support and resources to survivors with pending criminal cases. Assistant District Attorneys are on-site to work with victims and witnesses to prepare cases for trial in Criminal District Court and Municipal Court. Project Save – Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans Project SAVE provides free, emergency legal representation to survivors in Orleans Parish. Services may include temporary restraining and protective orders, temporary child support, custody, and use of property. Sexual Assault Program – Metropolitan Women & Children’s Services Provides sexual assault crisis counseling. Services include individual and group counseling, medical advocacy, referrals, outreach, and education. Southeast Louisiana Legal Services Provides civil legal services to victims of domestic violence for protection from abuse which may include temporary custody, temporary child support and use and occupancy of the home. After obtaining the protection order, our attorneys will handle divorce, long term child custody issues and enforcement of the protection orders. Tulane Domestic Violence Law Clinic The Domestic Violence Clinic provides civil legal services to survivors seeking protective orders, divorces and custody of their children.
