ORISSA STATE AWARDS FOR FILMS-2010ADVERTISEMENT

With a view to encouraging the production of films of high aesthetic and technical

standards in the Oriya language, Government of Orissa have decided to 'give State Awards

2010 and certificate of merit in the following categories.

(a) Feature Film:

(i) A prize of Rs.15,0001- in cash alongwith a certificate of merit for the bestfilm to be received by the Producer of the film.

(vii) A cash award! prize of Rs.7,5001- for the best Director alongwith acertificate of merit.

(viii) Seven prizes of Rs.5,0001- in cash alongwith certificate of merit to beawarded to the best Actor, Act ess, Story Writer, Music Director, Play BackSinger both male and female, photographer.

(ix) Eight prizes of Rs.3,OOOI- in cash alongwith certificates of merit to beawarded to the best supporting Actor, Actress, Comedian, Art Director,Sound Recordist, Editing, Lyricist and Screen Play.

(x) A cash award of Rs.2,OOOI- for the best Child Artist alongwtih a certificateof merit. ./

(xi) A Special Jury award of }7:'.-l,OOOI- with a certificate of merit to theProducer of a Film.

(b) "The Jayadev Award" to a film personality for his outstanding contributionto the growth and development of Oriya Cinema will be awarded with acash prize of Rs.25,OOOI- and a certificate of honour, a plaque and a shawl.

(e) Children and Educational Film:

A cash prize of Rs.7,5001- alongwith certificate of merit to the producer ofthe best film.

(f) Documentary Film:

(ii) A cash prize of Rs.5,OOOI- ak.ngwith a certificate of merit to be received bythe Producer of the best documentary film.

(ii) A cash prize of Rs.2,5001- alongwith certificate of merit will be given to theDirector of the best documentary film.

The films produced by individuals, State Government, Semi Government, Central

Government agencies will be eligible fer consideration for state awards for Best

Documentary Film, Best Children Film/Educational Film.

The procedure of selection of awards will be governed by a set of rules known as

the Orissa State Awards for films rules, 1989 a~d the am~~dments therein from time to

time.

All feature films produced during the calendar year 2010 i.e. censored from 1st

January, 2010 to 31st December, 2010 (both days inclusive) in Oriya language whether

within the State/outside will be eligible for consideration for the various categories of

awards. However, feature films produced by the Central Government or any State

Government or any agency, wholly or largely owned by them, shall not be eligible for

consideration of any award.

Besides the following films shall be ineligible for entry.

(iii) Remake of a film that has already won a State Award in aparticular category.

(iv) Dubbed version of a film or revised version of a film.

Prescribed application form could be downloaded from Govt. website or obtained

from the office of the undersigned alongwith copies of rules on a written request. The

applications in the prescribed form alongwith non-refundable entry fee of Rs.300/- in case

of feature film and Rs.150/- in case of non-f ature film in triplicate is to be submitted to

the undersigned on or before 28.2.2011. Application received after the prescribed date will

not be taken into consideration.

It may be noted that the decision of the State Government in respect of matters

covered by the Orissa State Awards for Films Rules, 1989 and all the interpretations of. \ 'these rules shall be final.
