ADVANTAGES FOR CONTRACTORSAND CONSTRUCTORS Can be used universally for the
most varied applications in building
constructions and bridge building,as well as for renovation projects
Short fitting and construction times
through order-related industrial
prefabrication enable early
completion of the structure
Uncomplicated handling and easi-
est possible installation on the most
diverse support structures (steel,
concrete, masonry, timber, etc.)
The fact that the profiles can be
walked on means that they can
be use for working platforms and
formwork
Compact delivery on theconstruction site, meaning minimum
storage requirements, less site
traffic and a very small number of
crane operations
Reduced risk of accidents through
installing the sheets floor-wise
immediately after assembling the
support structure (fall protection)
ADVANTAGES FOR STRUCTURALENGINEERS & ARCHITECTS Savings on reinforcement through
considering the profiles as ad-
ditional reinforcement makes it
possible to form sophisticated floors
and thus considerably reduce the
weight of the ceiling compared to
solid slabs
The dovetail shape of the profiles
can be used as an anchor rail for
securing supply lines, installations
and lights by means of HOLOCLIP
special-headed nuts and
HOLOBAR special-headed bolts
(no additional drilling needed)
Easy dimensioning and verifiable
structural analysis via free designsoftware (only in German language
available)
Also approved for dynamic loading
as well as with the use of
organically coated sheet metal
Most varied surface finishes
possible according to corrosion
protection requirements (corrosion
protection categories IIII)
Optical and und decorative design
possibilities for the underside of the
ceiling through the use of differently
coloured surface finishes
(coil coatings)
Reliable classification of fire
behaviour into categories R0R180

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SU HOLORIB/SUPERHOLORIB
FITTING OUT AND INSTALLATIONThe suspension elements HOLOBAR M8
and M10 for bigger loads are available
for the securing of installations and
suspended ceilings and HOLOCLIP M6
and M8 for smaller loads. By arranging
these elements in groups, loads of up to
10 kN can be suspended. This enables
ceiling systems, pipes and electric ca-
bles to be secured quickly and easily.
INFORMATION
COMPOSITE FLOORHOLORIBand SUPERHOLORIBcom-
posite profiles are patented in various
European countries. The interaction of
concrete and steel produces compos-
ite supporting structures for floor slabs
that combine the advantages of bothmaterials.
The HOLORIB/SUPERHOLORIBcom-
posite floor slab is generally approved
for predominantly static and dynamic
loading by building authorities and
is fire-resistant (at least 30 minutes)
without any additional measures. It is
the most well known composite floor
used, solving all problems regarding
fire protection, dynamic loading and
sound insulation in an optimum manner.
An additional advantage of this com-
posite floor system is the fact that the
dovetail shape facilitates the fitting of
technical installations, light fixtures and
visible ceiling systems using the simple
HOLOCLIP and HOLOBAR securing ele-
ments.
The use of HOLORIB/SUPERHOLORIB
composite profiles saves on assembly
facilities, ensures rapid construction
processes and facilitates short build-
ing deadlines with full safeguarding of
the advantages of solid reinforced steel
floors. The composite floor profiles
can be used as a working platform, for
structure stabilisation or as formworkor excellent installation support and
they can also be used as reinforce-
ment cross section area required for
structural calculation. This multiple uti-
lisation helps to produce economical
ceilings/floors with a low overall height
for all areas of application in building
constructions. The composite action
between the composite ceiling profile
and concrete is ensured by the dovetail
shape as well as various measures ap-proved by the construction authorities,
such as end anchorages using crushed
ends, through composite anchors or in
addition burls in the top flange of the
SUPERHOLORIB.
DESIGN AND STRUCTURAL ANALY-SIS OF COMPOSITE FLOORS USINGTHE HOLORIB/SUPERHOLORIBDESIGN SOFTWARE (IN GERMANLANGUAGE ONLY)With the structural calculation program
for the HOLORIB/SUPERHOLORIB
composite floor profiles, Montana
Bausysteme AG has, in cooperation
with the company M. Mensinger GmbH,
developed a design software package
which makes it possible for the user to
design the composite floor in an indi-
vidual way, as well as easily create the
associated documentary verification
with regard to structural calculation.
The calculation of the construction
stage is carried out in this respect in
accordance with the current construc-
tion approvals of the German Institute
for Constructional Engineering (DIBt)on the basis of DIN 18807-1 and DIN
18807-2. The composite stage can be
calculated alternatively according to
DIN 18800-5, DIN EN 1994 or SIA 264.
With regard to calculating stress result-
ants in the composite stage, there are
several options available for economi-
cal dimensioning with the calculation
methods according to the flexible hinge
theory, with and without redistribution
of moments, as well as with calcula-tion as single-span girder chain. The
structural calculation verifications for
the composite floor deck can be car-
ried out separately according to the
construction stage and the composite
stage with regard for specified and
user-defined load-case combinations
and summarised in a verifiable printed
protocol. You can request this software
from us free of charge!
FIRE PROTECTIONThe HOLORIBcomposite floor deck
also complies with fire resistance cat-
egories R0R180 without any additional
fire protection cladding. This excellent
fire behaviour can be ascribed to the
dovetail shape of the composite pro-files. The minimum thickness of the slab
in this regard is 10 cm for R90, 12 cm for
R120 and 15 cm for R180.
SOUND INSULATIONHOLORIB/SUPERHOLORIBcompos-
ite floor slabs can be placed on a par
with reinforced concrete floor slabs in
terms of sound insulation as the net
weight of the slab being decisive in this

respect. The slight loss in the weight
of concrete through the open dovetail
cells is compensated by the weight of
the sheet metal.
CORROSION PROTECTIONHOLORIB/SUPERHOLORIBcompos-
ite profiles consist of continuously
galvanised steel sheeting according
to DIN EN 10346 with a zinc weight of275 g/m. The composite profiles are
also surface-coated on request with a
polyester coil coating with a layer thick-
ness of 15 m or 25 m. The composite
profile can also be delivered on the vis-
ible side with a colour protection film for
transport and assembly. Subsequent
polyester coating is likewise possible.
CORROSION PROTECTIONThe modern profiling plant at Montana
Bausysteme AG makes it possible to
punch holes in rows for shear studs in
the bottom flange of the HOLORIB/SU-
PERHOLORIBcomposite profiles and
to crush the ends of the profiles, result-
ing in a highly effective end anchorage.
The SUPERHOLORIBcomposite pro-
files have additional burls in the top
flange, thus achieving a considerably
greater connecting effect through this
simple, economical measure.
QUICK INSTALLATIONTime is money! Rarely is this as clearly
evident as in the construction sector.
Early use through industrial prefab-
rication, compact delivery and rapidinstallation produce financial benefits.
The assembly of steel and composite
structures can be planned floor or
axis-wise depending on the dimensions
of the building, the number of floors,
specified deadlines and other basic
conditions.
The following construction sequence
is provided for:
laying the HOLORIBor SUPER-
HOLORIBcomposite profiles
concreting the slab floors
Applying installations
Installation with prefabricated HOLO-
RIB/SUPERHOLORIBfloors leads to
considerable reductions in construc-
tion time. The HOLORIB/SUPERHOLO-
RIBcomposite floor slab performs the
following functions in this regard:
rapid installation
floor slab formwork and working
platform in one component
reinforcement, also for dynamic
loading
fire resistance R0R180
anchor rails and suspensions at
every point
HOLORIBand SUPERHOLORIBcom-
posite floor slabs are suitable, among
other things, for the following types of
structure:
administrative buildings
multi-storey buildings
hospitals/hotel buildings
freight buildings
production and industrial buildings
multi-storey car parks
