Rain and snow, a near flood out at our field, but

all is well as we go into 2016. Many thanks to

Bill lindewirth and Paul Geders and others for

moving tables and benches to higher ground

and then back again to the field. No small

effort.

Things appear to be running smoothly, but the

club needs more help from the membership. Its

not reasonable to expect everything to be done

by the same three or four people every time.

We have open Board Positions. Specifically, Vice

President, Field Chairman and Activities Chair-

man. As it is, the current Board members are

doubling up and tripling up on some of the du-

ties.

I encourage the membership to consider and to

step forward to take on a position in the club.

The club cannot and does not run by itself.

We have quite a few proposed contests and

events proposed for 2016. These events need

contest directors. The club is willing to sanction

an event if a nominal entry fee is charged. Will

this encourage a CD to participate? If we cannot

obtain volunteers to run events within 30 days

of the event, we have no choice but to cancel

the event. Events are potential money makers

and can help keep the dues down. We all want

that.

Vice President, Pat Keebey called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Announcement(s): No Announcements. Attendance: 27 members were in attendance. New Member(s) in Attendance: Gryf Ketcherside Steven Craig Secretary’s Report: Greg Bowles, Secretary

A motion was made, seconded and voted to ac-cept the December meeting minutes as published in the 2016 January Flight Lines newsletter. Treasurer’s Report: Bill Lindewirth, Treasurer For December 2015 we had an income of $5905.00 and expenses of $881.74. A motion was made, seconded and a vote taken to accept the De-cember Treasurer’s Report as presented.

Correction: On Page #3 of January’s Newsletter (bottom of the first column), part of the last para-graph under Treasurer’s Report was missing. It should read: For November we had an income of $1075.00 and expenses of $363.31. A motion was made, seconded and a vote taken to accept the Oc-tober & November Treasurer’s Report as present-ed.” Field Maintenance Chairman’s Report:

Field Maintenance Chairman position is Open. No issues were reported. Safety Chairman’s Report: Brendon Weidinger, Safety Chairman

No safety issues were reported at the field.

Membership Chairman’s Report: Ralph Doyle, Membership Chairman The current membership for 2016 stands at 89 members. Note: With your membership application you must include a copy of you 2016 Membership Card along with your check. Remember, paying your dues gives you the privi-lege to use the flying field for one calendar year; Jan. 1st to Dec. 31th. If you have not paid your dues for 2016 by the end of the March meeting, your membership shall be considered in arrears and sub-ject to additional fees. Event Chairman’s Report: Event Chairman position is Open. Upcoming 2016 Spirits Events:

“Cabin Fever Daze”, Saturday, January 30th, 11:00 am- 2:00 pm. The O’Fallon Parks & Recrea-tion Department has again invited out club to partic-ipate in their annual event for 2016. The festival features various family-friendly contests, demon-strations and festival food. Last year was great fun! We have been given access to two football size fields for flying demos, with electricity available for charging batteries. So bring a Fixed-Wing Aircraft, Heli or Quad Copter. This is a great opportunity for our club to educate and answer questions about our hobby, and have some fun too. “Winter Indoor Fly-In (#2)”, Saturday, February 13th, 11:00 am-3:00 pm; $5 Pilot Fee Hope Lutheran Church, 1975 S. Old Hwy 94 (northwest corner across from Sonic & White Castle; Hwy 94 and Pralle Lane). A list of “proposed” events will be distributed to the members for review at the next meeting

The Bridgeton Trails Library is presently being considered for renovation sometime in late 2016 – 2017. We are currently looking for a new location that will host our monthly meetings after

Keebey have formed a committee to review the Club’s By-Laws. A motion was made, seconded and a vote tak-en to form this committee. Technical Presentation: Paul Geders brought presented his FMS Kawasaki KI61 Hein (“Tony”). He purchased it from Motion RC for $179 (On 1/12/16, it was reduced to $159.99). This aircraft features a 39.7” wingspan, 29.21” length, a brushless 3648-770kv motor, 60A ESC with a 5A BEC, 10.5 “X 7 pitch 3-blade prop, 4-9 gram digi-tal servos with metal gears, electric retracts, 14.8V 4S 2200mAh 35C Li-Po battery and constructed on EPO foam. (Battery and Receiver are not included.) It has yet to be flown. Next meeting: Paul Geders will be presenting infor-mation on UAV’s and the “Phantom Works Scaled Systems Shop”. Subjects covered will be Project Dia-mond, Project SAW, ScanEagle, Schiebel S-100 Camcop-ter and Project Vulture/Solar Eagle, etc. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm.
