Fast & Abstinence�

For members of the Catholic Church, the
norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18
until age 59. When fasting, a person is
permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two
smaller meals that together are not equal to
a full meal. The norms concerning
abstinence from meat are binding upon
members of the Catholic Church from age 14
onwards.�

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are
obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for
Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent
are obligatory days of abstinence.�

BEREAVEMENT GROUP� Catholic Charities is sponsoring a
bereavement group for those who have lost loved ones to
addiction.��It will be here at St. Joseph’s in the library of the
parish center (34 South Chestnut St.) and each session will run
from 7:00�8:15 P.M.��The meetings will be on: March 18, April 1,
April 15, May 6, May 20 and June 3.��This is a safe,
non�judgmental forum in which you can talk, share, support
