    Safety Information

Operation of any radio transmitting equipment including cellular phones

may interfere with the functionality of medical devices. Consult the

manufacturer of the medical devices if you have any questions. Otherelectronic equipment, especially inadequately shielded telecommunica-

tion and audio systems may also be subject to interference. Ensure

adequate distance from such equipment to minimize interference.

Only authorized personnel should install or service the unit described in

this manual. Faulty installation or service may be dangerous and may

    invalidate the warranty.

Allow sufficient space in the front and back for access to the

    channel boards.

The power dissipation of the IT-550 is up to 300 watts, make sure toprovide enough air flow access to avoid overheating of the unit.

Special consideration of air flow is required when stacking several

IT-550 gateways or other equipment in a confined space.

    Antenna Installation (cont.):

Use 50 ohm coax cable to connect the antennas to the IT-550

unit. Preferred cabletype is RG-58 for cable length of less then6m (20ft). and RG-213 for a cable length of up to 20m (60ft).

For longer cable runs please contact Flosys technical support.

Mount the coax connectors to the cable. Use a TNC connector at

the antenna end and a BNC connector at the gateway end. Check

    for shorts and continuity.

Connect the cables to the antennas.

Connect the cables to the antenna ports on the IT-550 gateway as

    shown in diagram 4.

    Troubleshooting

    No function at all:

Check that power switch on the back panel is set to ON.

Check that power cord is plugged in and outlet has power.

Check if both green LEDs located on the power supplies on the

back panel are lit. If not check main fuse if fuse is blown replace

    with a new fuse (5A/250V).

    Red Alarm on T1/E1 interface:

A Red Alarm indicates total loss of connection on a T1 or E1 span.

Check that the T1 / E1 cable is properly plugged into the T1/E1 port

(white port) on the IT-550 and on the proper connector on the

    terminating equipment.

Check if either a straight or a cross-connect cable is necessary for

    proper operation with your equipment.

    If cross-connect is required use a RJ-48 cross-connect cable.

A regular Ethernet Cat-5 cross-connect cable will NOT work.

    Poor GSM receive signal:

Check if only a group of channels or all channels are affected by the

    poor receiving signal condition.

If only a group of channels (i.e. Ch:1-4) has poor reception:

Check the respective anenna cabling and connectors.

Make sure connectors are fastened tightly.

Check the antenna cable for proper crimping of the connectors.

Check the direction of the antenna pointing towards the GSM

    basestation tower.

If all channels are affected by poor GSM signal reception.

Make sure the antennas point in the direction of the GSM

    basestation tower.

Check that the antennas are mounted with their directors in a

    vertical position.

    Buzzing noise during calls:

If there is buzzing noise during phone calls very likely this is caused

by interference from the GSM transmitter antennas.

Make sure the antennas are at least 6ft / 2m apart from any telecom

equipment, cables or cable ducts to avoid interference and noise

    problems.

Make sure the IT-550 cellular gateway is properly grounded.
