IC 555 is basically known as a timer IC
IC 555 is named after three 5 kilo ohm resistances that acts as the
voltage divider inside the IC circuitry
It is a monolithic integrated circuit and with it you can get accurate
timing ranges of microseconds to hours (independent of supply
voltage)
This versatile device has a large number of interesting practical
applications, especially for electronic hobbyists.
