Samara is a major Russian city on the left Bank of the river Volga, between the mouths of Samara and Juice. In the period from 1935 to 1991 the city was called Kuibyshev people of the city is more than a million people. Today Samara is a major centre of mechanical engineering and metalworking industries, space and aviation industry.

Samara Drama Theatre named after M. Gorky.

The theatre was built in 1888. In 1901 on the stage of the theatre Maxim Gorky`s play was presented to the public for the first time.

Samara Opera and Ballet Houseis one of the largest theatres in Russia. It wasfounded in 1931.

The monument to Chapaev.

Samara State Philharmonic Society was founded in 1940.

This museum was opened on 6 January 1983 tothe 100-th anniversary of Russian writerA.N. Tolstoy.

The monument of glory is the symbol of thecontribution of Samara to the country's aircraftindustry.

Stela «Ladya» is installed in honor of 400-anniversary of Samara.

«Samara Kosmicheskaya» - one of the youngestmuseums in Samara.

Samara railway station - the tallest building of the station in Europe (its height is 100 meters). Station was built in 2001. Currently Samara Station is a symbol of the city.
