563 Painters PrimerINTERIOR/EXTERIOR ZERO V.O.C.LATEX PRIMER SEALER & ENAMEL UNDERCOATER

Meets or exceeds Green Seal and LEED green buildingrequirements• Superior primer for all surfaces• High hiding/High TiO2 Content• Prime & Finish under 4 hours• Superior Enamel Holdout• Sticks to glossy surfaces• Anti-spatter• Low Odor

All previously painted surfaces, new and old wood, brick stone, concrete, cement and cement block, and other masonry, wallboard, composition board, and other drywall construction; formica, copper, and aluminum.

All surfaces must be clean and free from dirt, dust, grease, oil or peeling paint. A white powdery deposit (efflorescence) often found onmasonry surfaces, should be completely removed with a stiff wire brush. Repair all cracks and other imperfections with Muralo Spackle®.For large holes in plaster, use Patching Plaster. To repair masonry, use premium quality hydraulic cement.

Note: Muralo 563 Painters Primer will substantially improve adhesion of the finished coat to almost any paintable surface. Occasionally, however, some surfaces may have been previously painted with finishes that may contain anti-mar or water repellent substances or sealersthat reject latex primers and paints. Silicone, zinc stearate and waxes are among these substances. If the exact nature of any surface isnot known, light sanding with fine grain sandpaper will ensure adhesion over questionable surfaces.

New or Unpainted Surfaces: Apply one coat of this primer to the recommended substrate and topcoat with the paint of choice. Do not apply over staining wood such as cedar and redwood. Use Muralo 2201 Cedar Solution or X-200 Oil Based primer over newwood subject to tannin bleed in exterior application. Use a premium quality alkyd primer sealer for staining wood inside.

Previously Painted Surfaces: Apply one coat of this product to the properly prepared surface and topcoat with the paint of choice. The adhesion of the finish coat to almost any paintable substrate will be significantly improved by priming with 563 Latex EnamelUndercoater, even hard glossy surfaces. Usually, no sanding is required for hard glossy architectural enamels, however, some surfaces, particularly some factory finishes, may contain certain repellants such as silicone, stearates and waxes, which may repel this primer. If the exact nature of any surface is unknown, an application to a small test section is recommended before complete painting. Lightsanding is recommended for alkyd high-gloss enamels.

Use Muralo 562 Latex or X-200 Oil Based primer over chalky surfaces.

For best results, use: Brush: A good quality synthetic or nylon bristle brush; Roller: 3/8” to 1/2” nap roller cover gives best results;Spray: For conventional air atomized spraying, excellent results are obtained with air nozzle orifices sizes from 0.04” to 0.07” andpressure from 30 to 70 psi. The fluid nozzle orifice size should be 0.07” to 0.11”. For airless spraying, excellent results are obtainedwith an orifice size of 0.018” to 0.021”. Spraying width may range from 4” to 19” at a 12” distance. For best results, use equipmentmanufacturers recommendations.
