Interactions, metaphors and feelings emerge that are unique to each group. Research has demonstrated the effectiveness of group to be equal to or greater than that of individual therapy. Leading groups requires specialized training. This weekend will provide an opportunity to begin learning new skills and enhance the skills you already possess. Observing the development of a live group is an educational experience that cannot be matched by didactic learning alone. Over the course of three live demonstration groups, we will be able to see unconscious power dynamics emerge and develop within the group. Ed Elder, LMFT is the Co-Director of the Group Psychotherapy Training Program and President-Elect of the Eastern Group Psychotherapy Society. He is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary, The Blanton-Peal Institute, and the Group Psychotherapy Training Program.

Judith C. White MS, LCSW, CGP is a senior faculty member/supervisor of the Group Psychotherapy Training Program and is certified as a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst for individuals and groups by the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health. In addition, she is a certified sexuality therapist. She maintains a private practice of individual, group and couple psychotherapy.
