Conflict is…

● A normal, inescapable part

of life

● A reality in any relationship

● An opportunity to

understand opposing views,

values, and ways of

accomplishing goals

Why is conflict so common?

“Faced with the choice between changing

one’s mind and proving that there is no

need to do so, almost everybody gets

busy on the proof.”

John Kenneth Galbraith

Conflict and Communication

How do we listen when we listen in class?

→ Are we working to understand the feelings of the instructor and our classmates?
