5G architecture Integration of y dense network deployment of small cells with current networks (3G/4G)

4G (LTE/LET-Adv) Base Stations (BSs) form the primary macro-cell “coverage” layer, while the BSs in the higher (5G) or unlicensed frequency band form the secondary small-cell “capacity” layer. Support to 3 main services of 5G: • massive MTC: huge number of

devices to be connected and each device generate rather small size packets.

• URLL: fast and reliable data transmission.

• EMBB: fat “pipes” for broadband data transmission.
