All construction projects begin with design concepts and consideration of planning, programme and resource issues together with site problems. By using Registered Ground Engineering Professionals from the outset of projects, clients benefit from the experience and expertise of independently assessed engineers and geologists to deliver success. Their work should extend from early involvement, through the design and construction phase and potentially throughout the asset’s whole life and even during decommissioning to achieve greatest benefit, with particular emphasis on fitness for purpose and reduced whole life costs.

Ground engineering professionals who are registered will have achieved recognition of competency in addition to chartered status that is recognised by clients, employers, peers and the public. Most importantly, they have proven competence in their field that is rigorously assessed by two trained assessors and backed by two sponsors of at least equal standing.

Only chartered engineers and geologists are included on the register. They must be members of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institutute of Materials, Minerals and Mining or the Geological Society of London.

This advanced experience, knowledge and recognition provides clients with the confidence that the ground engineering aspects of their projects are in safe hands, so supporting delivery of successful project outcomes.
