Save The Bay: We are the Voice of the Bay
Since 1961, Save The Bay has given San
Francisco Bay a voice, mobilizing thousands of
area residents to protect and restore the Bay,
for all people and wildlife.
Our work would not be possible without the
mobilization of our communities, supporters,
partners and volunteers.
Together, we can build a healthy, sustainable
and equitable Bay Area, where everyone can
access and enjoy the Bay.

Bay Day is like Earth Day… for SF Bay
Traditionally, this official holiday unites all Bay
Area communities to celebrate the region and
connect with our Bay.
Whether it’s the first time you’ve been to the
shoreline or the 100th – Bay Day is about
inspiring everyone to explore and discover the
beauty and diversity of our Bay.
This year, due to COVID-19, Bay Day has
been reimagined. And, it’s sponsors like you
who can help us bring Bay Day to life!
Our Approach to Bay Day In Response to COVID-19
Save The Bay’s number one priority is the health and safety of its people and communities.
Our mission remains vital and our Bay-Saving team is committed to moving that
mission forward during this crisis and after it passes.
Due to continued great uncertainty we have decided to reimagine our Fifth Annual Bay Day
and will exercise an abundance of caution around this annual celebration.
This year, Bay Day will span the entire month of October and participants will have a chance
to build their own Bay Day adventure.
Everyone will have the opportunity to connect with the Bay and celebrate safely through
various activities at home, nearby or along the Bay Trail.

Bay Day Trail Challenge
For those who want to connect directly with the Bay, this month-
long 25-mile trail challenge let’s everyone choose when and where
they want to go. In partnership with Bay Trail and AllTrails.
Weekly Bay Trail Challenges
To increase access to Bay Day festivities and offer ways to
explore the Bay Trail in a different way, we will be having weekly
social media challenges with a chance to win prizes. Scavenger
hunts, trash clean-ups, and hikes with views, there’s something for
everyone.
